Resident Evil 5's main story mode can be played with two players, in a co-operative online mode. The feature will allow players to enter or leave anytime during the game. Players will not always stick together, and can be separated at points during the gameplay.

Trailers at Tokyo Game Show 2008, revealed an "offline co-op mode." This mode delivers the same co-op experience as offered by the online co-op mode, only with two local players controlling the action in split screen.

The offline co-op mode offers two local players a chance to team up for play sessions through split screen. This mode mirrors the online co-op mode. One player acts as a host. The other player joins in, splitting the screen horizontally and restarting the game from the current session's previous checkpoint.

To end a co-op session, the host player can exit out from the game to the main menu. He'll then be able to continue in single player from the point of stoppage by selecting "continue" from the main menu.

Players wanting a sneak peak at the offline co-op mode will find it in recently released demos.

so, based on the demo, it is already confirmed too. Split-screen

I heard that there will be a Resident Evil Xbox360 collector's edition console as well. I have not seen any photos yet tho.

He's right.  RE4 barely broke 700k between the ps2 and GC versions combined.  This one will do even worse.

Comparitively, RE1-3 all sold over 1.5 million in Japan.  The Japanese don't like their RE all shootered out, and I agree.

they should of made the symbol a different color or the ps3 base color different, i just dont like the black on black. oh well good bundle nontheless.

That was a rumor coming from Ars' microsoft mole. So far I don't think anything the mole leaked failed to happen tho. Red console and gamepad, I think - besides the game, of course.

It's interesting both companies are expressing enough interest in Resi 5 to put out a special SKU. Sony's been quite generous with them tho (specially in Japan) but the only non-standard 360 issued so far has been the Halo edition.

Well if RE4 couldn't do it between the PS2 and GC....

I kinda think Japan wasn't as thrilled about the changes as western gamers in RE4.

Then again it coulda been that RE4 came out later on PS2.
