At least for a while.

Before this week's US numbers, it is sitting 300k behind Oblivion on the Xbox 360 at 2.33 million.  The top five RPG's (when looking at a single platform) are all on the Xbox 360, with the nearest rival to number five being almost 700k behind (Pokemon on the Wii).

JRPG's specifically are another story, with the Wii having the highest selling title, the Xbox 360 having the second, then games from the two platforms rounding out the top five.

Fable 2 is a brilliant title, and it should gather and then maintain it's lead for some time, probably until the Western release of Final Fantasy (which could well beat Fable 2 individually on both it's releasing platforms).

Edit:  Clearly I mean consoles not handhelds.

But for how long? I think Zelda will eventually knock it of its perch, that said Fable 2 is going to end up doing 4+ mill ... 5 wouldn't be a stretch.

Fallout 3 will outsell it. Fallout continues to sell over Fable 2 every week and has greater word of mouth sales.

After that Final Fantasy may outsell Fallout 3 in the long run on the PS3 if the name still proves to be big but I'm unsure right now.

Fallout 3 is not a single platform exclusive and It's multiplatform, but it still looks at this rate it will outsell Fable 2.

I still say 4M+ LTD, I believe that makes me better than you because I was closer to the mark on this landmark game.

I don't know. To be honest I don't see Fallout 3 having the same legs as Fable 2. Especially as Fable 2 will undoubtedly see a re-release in an expanded form.

Haha.  I don't think it will make 4 million.

It will get close with Fable 2: The Lost Chapters, but I just don't see it hitting.

But boy, was this game worth the hype.
