I had thought that it might be a TAD early to start the hype engine for Killzone 2.  HOWEVER, I walked in a local Gamestop and saw Halo Wars promo video running on a 360 Kiosk.  I didn't see any signs up anywhere for Killzone 2 at all.  I asked Gamestop clerk behind the counter if they had any Killzone 2 promotion, and they said nothing but the beta.  In another Gamestop, they said Halo Wars was getting greater buzz, and not too many people are asking about Killzone 2.

Anyhow, anyone know if any promotions for Killzone 2 has started yet?  If not, any idea when it may start?

in one game store that I checked they had a big Killzone 2 cut out with lot;s of pre-order signs and empty Killzone 2 cases on the shelve,,,they said they just got it.

anyways ,,,are we really comparing RTS with FPS?

I haven't seen anything for Killzone 2, but then again, I never saw anything for Halo Wars either. I guess it varies from store to store.

I also bet that a lot of buzz was generated because it is a fairly unknown game with Halo in it - People must be curious.

More like marketing efforts question, even if the genres aren't the same.  Both games would target somewhat similar demographics, so the questions of marketing is a valid one.

We had a section of 16 display cases for Killzone 2 last week. This week they were replaced by a flier hanging from the ceiling, displaying a giant Helghast and a blurb about the demo.

We have lots of people asking about Halo Wars, but they usually get pretty disappointed when we tell them it's not a shooter. Somebody actually asked if you could dual-wield energy swords in the game. >_<

Halo Wars will have very high opening sales because of the name, and then quite a few copies traded in once people realize it's not the Halo they know and love.

It sucks for Ensemble.  This is their final game before closure, and so many people are going to be disappointed by it simply because  it wasn't what they were expecting.

My Gamestop has started putting up certain things. We have the demo vouchers, and two ceiling posters for Killzone 2 and PS3.

i picked up my killzone 2 demo voucher today.... the demo doesnt go online until feb 5th.....
