I disagree with most of his reasons. In a hypothetical situation, a girl may want a wii...and mom may want a wii. But the boy wants a PS3...

There is no reason why they would have 2 Wiis as the girl and mom can easily share their Wiis and play togehter.

Who's gonna buy the boy a PS3? I also think it's more than presumptuous to say that he even wants a PS3.

As for the daughter and mother playing on the same Wii. Just because they could share doesn't mean they'd want to. My parents got tired of us watching shows on their TV so they got us a separete one.

Like bigjon specified, if we are talking about young boys then i think you are right. I do wish that young boys, and parents knew quality software apart from shovelware and mediocre titles.

My gf got a wii from her parents for chrismas and she got something called "Ferrari Challenge" (49 dollar game) and duck hunting with a pistol.

I couldnt stand for that shit...and for 40 bucks I got her 4 good titles at EB games boxing day sale (RE:UC, Geometry wars, Sonic secret rigns and Tomb raider anniversary)

Around the Network

Nintendo is aiming at a more robust lineup of fun for the family titles >_> I'm not sure they're selling point is the hardcore play by myself types. All the adds for the Wii showcase a ton of people in the living room playing together, that's what they're aiming for o.O;

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.

there are tons of reasons for a 'family' to own more than 1 Wii.

specially when you hold family gatherings and haveing drunken Wii bowling matches and the kids wont stop complaining because they havent gotten to play yet.

My kids can play there games while I can play mine at the same time, just in a seperate room, everyone stays happy, and keeps the kids outta my hair while Im trying to play (concentrate) on my games

Not sure how common it might become but I have often considered getting a 2nd Wii for the bedroom.

Again I don't know how common this would become but it's not out of the realm of possibilities. I know for one that I have been very very tempted to buy another for the house mainly for my sister to play. I have already told her I will get her one for sure when she leaves for college, and she said only if she went to a school that's not local. The main reason I've wanted to get her one is when she hogs it to play wii music/animal crossing while I would prefer to play something else...She saw me playing World of Goo the other day and was intrigued enough I know I'll lose if from my room this coming weekend haha...

“When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down “happy.” They told me I didn’t understand the assignment and I told them they didn’t understand life." - author unknown
