OOOOH i get it, it's not YOY increase it's an increase from this year's black friday to this year's december sales of 130%.

Honestly this is pretty vague about exactly what point in time is being measured against what point in time.


I think we're gonna see ps3 sales down quite a bit YOY for december. He said sales were up 60% YOY here: http://www.endsights.com/?p=538
in the OP link he says sales are up 40% YOY, both are quotes from Ian Jackson, since he is SCEA he must be talking about USA.

40% appears to be the total years sales YOY not just december, is that what you calculated?

This just proves that the PS3 is not selling. A statment like this just makes things worse. There are no points of reference to check it againts, it just looks like they have looked at last year and then this and found a few days where the numbers are better. Poor show Sony, give us some real number and dates like MS.

I'm sure you already know what I mean by the frustration comment but if you're that clueless you don't then here you go, I'm frustrated everything that isnt fantastic great news for Sony is labelled as hate, not that Sonys PS3 had an aprant rise of 130% ... all I said was VGChartz says otherwise. and it does ...

2007 sales = 2.56m x 1.4 = 3.58m
2008 sales through Nov = 2.82m
Dec = 3.58m - 2.82m = 0.76m

so dec is 5 weeks going into january right? I have 738k for the 4 weeks in december but we don't have the data for the last week yet. Looks pretty accurate.
