I hope it's not as ridiculous as R2 - having to unload multiple clips on a single non-boss guy showing no signs of damage was probably the stupidest thing I've seen in that game. Fortunately, it looks like KZ2 did a really good job with animations, especially when shooting an enemy in specific areas.....somethin R2 completely left out.

I think if you place your shots well enough, you should be okay. A lot of gameplay videos I've seen show people who can't seem to aim well (combination of lousy aiming, running, and not managing recoil) and their shots go all over the place as opposed to Resistance 2 where the enemy takes a while to go down even if you're using the carbine and putting a stream of shots directly into their face.

Controlled bursts to manage your recoil and use of iron sights or crouching ought to be good enough.

That's what I like hearing. It's been a long time since I've played a shooter that requires controlled bursts to be effective. In terms of overall feel to your weapons and how your bullets interact with enemies, R2 is one of the worst games I've played. I got really excited about KZ2 when I noticed that people kept bringing up how well your character/weapons feel.
