I like Philips a lot as a company, a truly great Dutch company. But let truth be said, from Wikipedia:

OK whatever... But why such a big supporter of Microsoft? There's no multi-national tech company in the world with an as bad reputation and track record...

The first cut is always the deepest............... Sony were the first "corporatrion" to join the gaming world hence my issue here is with Sony, not with microsoft.

Personally i couldn't give a toss who wins the console war anymore............. as long as its NOT sony.

Sony made gaming the dog eat dog business it has become today, Life was far better when REAL gaming hardware and software developers were around. (ie Atari, Sega, Nintendo)

Sony got rich off the back of the success that Atari, Sega and Nintendo made in the gaming world.

@Ronster: The reason why Sony was able to pull PSX into a success, was because of Nintendo and Sega fucking their own things up. The time when SNES and Megadrive were alive and well, every competing attempt was pretty much a joke by judging their success, which PSX was seen too while still in developement. If Nintendo hadn't tried to make the ultimate powerhouse console and hadn't showed their middle finger to 3rd parties or if Sega had ditched 32X before its release, Sony could have had exited the games market before PSX was even out. Of course, it was Sony that got M$ into making their own console.

And now sony are losing 3rd party exclusives left right and centre to microsoft due to their arrogance and complete disregard for the competition, i mean how dare they say the next generation starts when they say so?

 I can try, I might still have the gaming magazine that wrote about it, but it will be in swedish if I find it and get it scanned so I can upload it.

As far as links go you won´t be finding many of those since the programs were swedish and they haven´t put up all their stuff up on the Internet from those days.

Court rulings I don´t know if it went to that but I think they sued sony over in the us for using the play station name and I suspect that this was coveed in that trial so you can probably find more about it than me since I am not from there and don´t know where to look for it. All I know is that in the end they settled in that case.

Believe it or don´t doesn´t mutter to me I just thought I would share it with you all.

@Ronster: Basically Sony is doing the excact same thing Nintendo did with N64.
