Well FFXII didn't have a main character (except for Ashe, who was a woman and did cry at one point) so I guess that flies there... X.... IX had my boy Zidane who was pretty clearly a shounen-style boy hero....

Look it didn't used to be like this!

I know, the past FF protagonists were way cooler. Nomura has some good ideas, problem is; he has basically the same idea every time...
