I originally tried to post this thread last week as "What are Your Five Favorite Mangas and Please Say What it is that You Enjoy About Them;" however, I think it got lost in the shuffle since I posted it as an offtopic discussion. So, since I think animes and mangas would appeal to the same types of people that enjoy jrpgs and since jrpgs have been a very popular gaming genre on many different consoles and have been especially notable on Playstation consoles over the last decade or so and since the PSN features an anime section as part of its video store, in attempt to get more responses, I am going to repost the topic in modified form as part of the Sony forums.
So, I am wondering what are your favorite animes and mangas (you can talk about your favorite jrpgs if you feel like it), and I think it would be interesting to hear what you enjoy about them.
Some of my favorites are Wolf's Rain (I especially like its gothic motiffs and how it reinvents and attaches a spiritual element to werewolf stories plus the camradeship between the four friends and its music), Bebop (of course), Inuyasha, Full Metal Alchemist, Chrono Crusade, Big O (I like its reinvention of the Batman mythos). Most of the anime I've seen was on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim but it seems as if they don't show as much as they used to and now primarily show their original comedies instead much to my chagrin.
