Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 360 Mod Gives Keyboard and Mouse Support At Long Last

No wonder Microsoft will not give us Keyboard and mouse support - it's too costly.

The XIM 2 gives Xbox 360 owners the ability to use a plug-and-play keyboard and mouse with their console. It's available from XIM's site for a steep $180, but then, the ability to shoot more things even faster and more accurately has to be priceless to somebody, right? It's available to order from their website, though you'll have to wait a bit for shipping. [Engadget]

Microsoft could easily add keyboard and mouse support. The USB ports are already there and adding mouse and keyboard drivers wouldn't be a problem for Microsoft.

It's annoying that they don't offer such support since it would do wonders for FPS and strategy games on the system and could bring point and click adventures to the system.

As for that mod, it looks like they've basically used a few dollars worth of components and modified the controller, it's not worth $180, not even remotely close (in my opinion).

Yeah, what Legend11 said. It wouldn't be a problem. Heck, even the Wii supports keyboard.

I guess that MS wins some profit from the controllers.

Well that gives an unfair advantage to people with just controllers so I hope this doesn't become a come thing.

The Xim project is already 2 years old I use it play with my Wiimote on the xbox360, the Xim2 is 3 times as better as the first and I was already happy with xim1.
