You guys can joke about Microsoft getting this Sony exclusive that nobody cares about all you want. The thing is that this sort of thing is getting more and more common. Pretty soon Sony will not have any exclusives left except for their first party efforts. It's difficult to sell a system that way.

I think people have already accepted this but  it works both ways , mass effcct , gears  of war and bioshock either went  multiplatform or are at risk of going that way.Sony is mostly reliant on 1st party in ''09 soo this is less of an  issue.

But way of the samurai ? loll make iit 360  exclusiive ii dought anyonee will care.

I understand what you're saying ,but it's not just Way of the Samurai.  It's everything.  The big games; the small games; all games.  Saying it's just Way of the Samurai about games like it is saying take a bunch of little nibbles off of my pie.  Before you know it, those little nibbles become a big bite.

I can't see why  your gaming experience would be affected by more people sharing in the  experience  , it's llikee more piees  beiing made as opposed to your pie  getting eaten.

The ps3 got plenty of goty awards and has arguably the best line up  this year , even with the loss of gta 4 one of the biggest selling games this gen.

No!  No!  No!  One pie does not magically become two pies of the same size.  The one pie becomes two pies and your pie is smaller.  Why would people want to eat your pie when it costs more and can get the same thing across the street?

I think you're missing the point.

Essentially, MS pays third parties to keep games from going to the ps3 in addition to the 360.  Conversely, Sony makes new games in addition to the third party stuff for their system.  Sony is adding more games to the overall mix, while MS is focusing on keeping the games that are out there from getting into the hands of more gamers.

And does it really matter if almost all of Sony's exclusive games are first party, when the quantity is roughly even between the systems and the quality leans in Sony's favor (as shown by the GotY awards)?

EDIT:  Or rather, I'm missing the point, lol.  Disregard why I said my comment.  But I still stand by my comment, even if it was totally irrelevent to your analogy.

Have fun with it 360 owners. Third-party exclusives are thankfully a thing of the past. Would be stupid to half your market intentionally. So we get Bioshock and you get Way of the Samurai and Final Fantasy XIII. Sounds fair to me. Does anyone know what the biggest third-party exclusives are for 2009 for either 360 or PS3?

I'm done arguing about pies because I'm eating spaghetti, which is much better.

The ps3's big 3d party stuff has already gone multiplat (Tekken, FF), and it remains to be seen whether the 360's stuff will go multi (SO, Splinter Cell).  Really it depends on moneyhats.  If moneyhats were in fact paid (something I suspect was the case for SO4), then it depends on how long the timed exclusivity contract lasts (like Eternal Sonata and Bioshock).

are you just ignoring the  bolded ?  yes the ps3 has lost exclusive support but iit still has a plethorra off excellent eexclussivees out  noww  and sometime in the  future lbp, soccom, r2 , k2 ,GoW3 , GT5 ,unchaarrted 2 etc are all prooven  franchises AND WILL NEVER GO MULTI. Free psn , blu-ray , wi-fi as standard.  If you feel you can can get the same thing across the street for less then you haven't read the facts very well.

Sony has far more  dev resurces than ms and it's  evident  in the  no. of their 1st party offerings. MS just opens the wallet for suppot ,,  a strategy that is not sustainable for the longterm (if you want to make a profit).

Slightly off-topic but this is really stupid btw. Paying money to developers to NOT develop a version is hurting customers and if both Sony and MS do it the HD consoles in total.
You can almost hear Nintendo laughing.
Only developing games for your own console is not much different from that I suppose.
On the other hand this only works because the PS3 and 360 are so similar from an architectural standpoint. The main processor is identical (a PowerPC) they have identical memory and the graphic card is also in both cases a standard PC GPU with similar capabilities. When EA and Activision put their games on every platform from DS to PS3 it gets a bit ridiculous though because these are not the same games anymore.

XBox 360 will have a much better 2009 games lineup than PS3. XBox 360 beat PS3 in 2006,2007 and 2008 in regards to both console sales and had better games list than PS3 for three consecutive years. 2009 will not be any different to the previous years.
It would not surprise me to see quite a few of these so called remaining "PS3 exclusive titles" to come to XBox 360 and become multi-platform.
90% of the time any given game sells better on XBox 360 than PS3.

The only reason these games were exclusive to Sony is because the last 2 generations Sony dominated. There are three successful consoles on the market now. I don't know why people make a big deal about exclusives going multiplatform, it's to be expected.

Are you serious?

1.  LBP and MGS4 have been taking awards left and right at most gaming websites, and GT said the ps3 had the best line up of 2008, even better than the PC's.

2. Those remaining ps3 exclusive titles are all published by Sony, save 1-2.  Unless Sony gets bought, they won't be going multiplat.

Im glad when titles go multiplatform. It ensures the games sell better, and that the developers invest more in their titles.

As for PS3 vs 360, I still want the PS3 to sell poorly. Im hoping this will force a price drop. The sooner the better. Then Ill go out and get a used one.
