Forums - Nintendo - will ther possibly be any other main franchises to have 2 games on wii?

we are pretty much sure now that they are working on a smg2 (or maybe a different mrio game thats still a main one), and we know there is aother zelda coming (though this doesn'ty technically count because zelda twilight princess was really a gamecube game)

 

do you think there may be any other main first party franchises that will see 2 games this generation? i think i remember hearing in some interview or something (can someone back this up?) that the creator of super smash bros would be interested in making another one possibly soon.

 

if the wii last for more then a few more years without it's succesor coming out, i think there would be a greater chance of this happening.

so is anyone willing to offer thier .02 worth?

there wont be a second smash brothers. no way.

it is likely there will be a second mario platformner.

The dev time for first party games really really long? SSBB comes every few years, Mario kart is the same etc.

No, Nintendo doesnt need tat many games in order to sell consoles, so almost definitely no. That's why we are seeing less and less games from them, because they essentially dont need more games, Wii's are flying off the shelves regardless.

Yes, Mario Kart Wii 2 [crosses fingers]. I think there will be another Metroid game.

By the way I think there will be at least 3 Mario (main series) games like on the NES. The difference being that the Wii will stay around longer.

Wii sports 2

Looking at GC there were multiple: Star Fox, Metroid, Pikmin, Zelda, Pokemon and of course, Mario Party

For Wii so far the only really confirmed is Wii Sports 2 (Resort). Maybe Mario. Mario Party 9 is practically guaranteed as is a true Wii Zelda. Besides that...? Who knows. One would assume a real Pokemon game will come out which would make that the 2nd for Wii. I doubt another Metroid Prime. Possibly another Brain Academy though.

I can see another Fire Emblem.

Maybe a (non Prrime) Metroid by the end of the gen.
