Exactly. These 3 religious are all monotheistic and friggen closely related.
Sadly a complete destruction of Gaza might be the only option for a lasting peace, the people of that region openly and democratically voted in a terrorist organization to serve as their government.
Nations such as this and Nazi Germany must be destroyed and rebuilt from the ashes, and sadly they have given Israel no choice due to the fact that they as a people will not cease violence. Sometimes a mass number of people have to die to create a peace that cannot be sustained through normal measures such as truces and i weep for times such as this but I don't see an alternative.

Yes they did, and still do. Where did you get that idea from? Both the Tanach and the Quran are filled with stories of God commanding his followers to destroy nations and make war...
Heck, even J.C. told his disciples to buy swords.
The only thing that is forbade is killing without cause (murder). Killing to protect one's self or making war against your enemies (or the enemies of God) are condoned and really, is encouraged, in all 3 religion's holy books.

Jesus told his disciples to buy swords for self defense...Not to go to war, and butcher people. And when Peter hacked off Malchus' ear in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus told Peter he was clearly in the wrong for such an action 'Those who live by the sword, die by the sword.' - And then promply healed the Roman's ear. Furthermore, the NT contains no other record of Chrisitan-initated violence.
Otherwise, you are right. Old Testament scripture contains historical logs of millions of death - some condoned by God. The Qu'ran is also the same way, as Mohammed himself (and any muslims correct me if I'm wrong) participated in military campaigns.
Now, for the OP - It's unfortunate that this is all going on, but when you have a terrorist faction fighting a Democracy, horrible things can happen - especially when said Democracy has one of the best air forces in the world.

I have said nothing that disagrees with what you said. The person who I was responding to said that Judaism, Islam, and Christianity don't allow killing, which is incorrect. Yes, each religion's reasoning for killing is different, but it doesn't change the fact that killing is permited under the proper circumstances.
It's also worth noting that the Tanach is also a part of the Christian Bible in the form of the Old Testament. And the so-called Old Testament does actually condone warfare if it is justified.

One more thing, to add to my previous statement, let's not forget the quote attributed to Jesus in the New Testament:
"Don't imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! No, I came to bring a sword. I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law."

Comrade - You have to take that statement entirely in the context of what Jesus was saying - He was giving a dissertation on the fact that Christianity would not be accepted by others.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
To those who say religions say killing is all right in some circumstances - A religion that promotes killing is not a religion worth believing in. Under ANY circumstances. How could anyone believe that their god who is above everything would indulge in petty human emotions? Why would an all powerful god really care what people believe in?
