Are we seriously gonna have the "Zelda isn't an RPG" discussion again?

It depends where you stand Comrade, if you think Zelda is not an RPG then sure I say we drop it, if you tell me it is then I will sit you people down and have this argument again and again until we get it right damn it.

As for Zelda, I'd say it's an RPG in the lightest sense of the word...

Really, it's just too hard too say, it shares a lot of the characteristics, and also lacks many of them as well. I don't know really.

If D&D is the definition of an RPG, then I'd say it's not... but if Fable is an RPG, then Zelda certainly is as well.

But the argument for Fable being an RPG is the choices you make affecting who you become and the environment around you. You can't do this in Zelda, you are always Link set along a fairly straight path to saving Hyrule.

Zelda does not have the levelling system and linear storyline to define it as a JRPG, while it also doesn't have the character choice and effect on your environment that would define it as a WRPG. It just isn't an RPG.

Works for me man, to each their own. I'm too drunk right now to argue about RPGs, so I concede this fight... and I never concede anything, so you get a trophy, LOL. I have no idea why that is so funny, but like I said, I am drunk so I have a good excuse.

We can have this argument another time when your handicap has faded. Personally I often contemplate disconnecting my ethernet when I get drunk because you never know what stupidity you'll reek while inebriated. Last time I got really wasted I ended up talking to an Ex I never wanted to speak to again. We've become friends since, so it was all for the best, but at the time I was really kicking myself.

It is an RPG.
