Just a question is Breath Of Fire II worth downloading as I have never played the game but I do like Shining Force II so was wondering is this game similar?

Just downloading, or buying from the Virtual Console? Depending on your finances, at least the other of those is always a good idea. =P

Hell yes. It has the Final Fantasy combat system and is MASSIVE... I mean FUCKEN MASSIVE. It is considered one of the best RPG's ever made last I heard. I have the original SNES cartridge. That game is just awesome. The story line is so great too. I am not gonna spoil it though.

Tip the game is one of those where the continuous battles that you get into will drive you insane.  If you can get past that its awesome. 

when I say downloading I mean VC as I don't believe in roms and pirating software

I was also tossing up between this or shinning force, I heard shinning force is kinda like fire emblem.

I never played Fire Emblem but I saw some videos recently and it does look a lot like Shining Force. They are both great RPG's. Shining Force has the better combat system in my opinion though, but Breath of Fire has that awesome Storyline.

I bought Shining Force on the VC because I loved Path of Radiance. I must say that Shining Force is a good game, but it has a few flaws. I guess I just became to accustomed to the Fire Emblem mechanics. Anyway, I've now learned to accept Shining Force for what it is and love it.

I had never heard of Breath of Fire, but I saw a review of it and it was rather positive. It compared it to Zelda and Final Fantasy so I contemplated buying it. It's too late now because I bought Paper Mario XD

I only have 600 points left. That would mean I would have to put another $10 in the Wii to be able to buy it. Is the game even worth it?

Breath of Fire was the first RPG that I ever liked not made by Square... Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

Lufia II for the win...but seriously i will buy it(BoF 2) for DsL/Gba.

I would tell anyone I have ever met who liked RPG's to get BoF2, as a far improvemnt to Bof it is a face paced game and its story is massive, like your looking FF7 long here.

I wont spoil anythign for you aside from its to awsome of a game to miss playing.
