I knew things were not going well there... but this is worse than expected.
Some Positives
Wii SW is actually up after this week about 1 million. Thanks to Wiifit, Brawl and MKWii, and a late surge from Animal Crossing.
PSP Software is up over 3 million, thanks mainly to MH3g and FF:D.\
Also PS3 software is up a good bit too. DMC4, MGS and a few other added the need help.
The Bad
- DS SW Fell from 37 million to about 26 million
- PS2 SW Fell about 10 million to 6 million
- X360 only gained 500k despite all the new exlcusives they purchased.

I need to point out that in 05 and 04 only 200 titles are tracked compared to 400 for 06-08. Sales used to be much better than they are now. The low numbers for 06 was because there was really no Wii or PS3 yet, and the PS2 was slowing already there.
Conclusion-
I am confident that next will be better for all consoles with the exception of the PSP, the PSP had a ton of big games out there last year, next year it is the DS's turn with DQ9... that should give it another 4 million bump... Also the PS3 and Wii should start doing better. Both systems have massive games in the not to distant future (FFXIII and DQ10) and that should hold some life in them. I am sure MS will buy some more games for the 360 too, it should be okay.
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
