Forums - Microsoft - So, MS seems to still be dicking me around, can I get anything out of it?

Early this Month I complained about having to call Microsoft not once, but twice about turning off the god damn auto-renewal for XBox LIVE. Two calls and questions like "Can you have a friend or family take over your account instead of cancelling it?" later I am still set up for auto-renewal on Jan. 1st.

Now I don't feel as though I should call them now, they have already wasted my time twice. If I wait until Jan. 1st and get charged (because these fucking crooks will charge me, we know this) and then call, provide my 2 claim numbers proving I called on 2 different ocassions to get this sorted out will MS give me anything in return for this inconvinience?

I don't want to hear "Call them, don't try to get something free" because at this point I deserve it. I sat on the phone during the 2nd call for over a half hour while I went from one person to the next and then to billing, had them make me sit and wait to then later tell me all my info was removed from the system and auto-renewal was turned off. My credit card info is still on my account (2 credit cards by the way) and I am still set-up for auto-renewal on Jan 1st.

Anyone else ever have this issue? Is so, did you get anything out of it after calling once again to tear them apart verbally?

P.S. Yes I can yell at them, not one but two, no make that 4 including the billing department lied to me and asked me to get someone else pick up my LIVE tab.

u are not the first person i heard this happen... very similar news appear on digg a while ago.

Very odd, I had no trouble cancelling once. You might have to write to them to get some sort of compensation though.

I know they made changed to my account too because as stated in my original thread a month ago I told of how after the first call the changed the auto-renewal date from Dec. 31st ,2008 to Jan. 1st, 2009.

Is it just me or is this company and its employees fucking stupid?

Wow. You're unlucky.

I called them on 2 separate occasions to cancel XBOX Live. Took like ten minutes. You have to call them. They're not going to give you anything free. Just pick up the phone, and make the call... Unless you want to waste 8 bucks.

It is pretty stupid that they make you call them.

I shouldn't have to write, or call. This is the 21st century, is it that hard to have a "cancellation" button on your Xbox.com account or on the Xbox360 account information?

They give you the option to extend your subscription but make you jump through multiple bullshit hoops just to get rid of it.

If I wrote them something now it would look something like this '*@*$%$*$(%&@@%*$ #%&@^$^!!! $Y#^&^#^#^"

Translation:

Dear XBOX

Please cancel my XBOX Live silver, I no longer want to pay for it.  If you charge me after Jan 1, 2009, I will be forced to take legal action.

Yours truly,

Euphoria14

But really, it is weird how you can extend your XBL at the drop of a hat, but cancelling it is hard.  But that's with any kind of service.  Cancelling any subscription is too hard.

I feel like I wasted $8 already.

Only game I played online was Castle Crashers, which lasted like 10 minutes andI watched maybe 5 Netflix movies before I realized other than the very weak HD selection and "Starz Play" it is the same trash instant-view lineup.

I also got it because I heard people say you could manage your Netflix account from your 360, which isn't true. Just to watch a movie on the 360 I need to boot up the PC, log into my Netflix account, find a movie I want to watch, add it to my "Instant Watch", turn on the 360, load up Netflix and then finally watch my movie.

Easier to just stream for free with a PS3, jeez.

Edit - After reading my Netflix rant I realized MS could make this a lot easier if they just add a damn web browser.
