The Best: 'Left 4 Dead' -It isn't often that a game comes along with a fun level that increases exponentially with the addition of more and more players.
The Worst: 'Gears of War 2' - Multi player that doesen't work out of the box? For a sequel to a game with a very popular online multi player mode 'Gears of War 2' was a huge let down.

The Best: 'Soul Calibur IV' - 'Soul Calibur IV' offered a character creator, a few new playable characters (including Yoda and Darth Vader),
The Worst: 'Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe' - Speaking of staying close to your roots... MK v DCU did just the opposite.
Game Announcement
The Best: 'Brutal Legend' - The excitement was palpable as 'Brutal Legend' was announced at the 08 VGAs. A trailer, Jack Black, Rob Halford, and Mr. Tim Schafer all on the same stage. It was awesome.
The Worst: 'Huxley' - Remember when 'Huxley' was announced?
Cut Scenes
The Best: 'Star Wars the Force Unleashed' - The cut scenes in 'the Force Unleashed' are incredible.
The Worst: 'Mirror's Edge' - Well... if you really like those E-surance commercials then you may want to argue against 'Mirror's Edge' getting worst cut scenes.
Xbox Live Arcade
The Best: 'Braid'
The Worst: 'Frogger 2' - A lame remake of a lame game. 'Frogger 2' isn't worth the time or money
Writing in a Game
The Best: 'Left 4 Dead' - The truest example of the old saying "less is more". 'L4D' is completely devoid of any narrative. Their is no written story here.
The Worst: Grand Theft Auto IV' - The writing in 'GTA IV' is terrible.
