Forums - Nintendo - FF VI DS!?!

they do not have to remake it into 3d graphics, they could just add some video, voice, and enhance the sprites. I think that would be enough. Kinda like what they are doing with the DQ remakes, they left those in sprite form I believe just enhanced them.

I too prefer the SNES "look" I think it has so much more appeal. That is why the SNES has aged so well, and the N64 and PSX not as much (save a few gems)

Both the Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy remakes on the DS are 3-D. Dragon Quest just looks better for some reason.

I cant tell from those pics, but if they could make FF6 look like that than I am more than happy.

Remaking a gorgeous game like Final Fantasy VI into the DS's limited, pointy 3-D graphics is beyond stupid. It'd be a long way from being an actual improvement.

FFIV DS was a measured improvement.

I also have to say that I can't wait for FFVI to come out again. It has to be the best FF game I've played to date but I would like to see it remade so that means we'll probably have to wait a while for it

“When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down “happy.” They told me I didn’t understand the assignment and I told them they didn’t understand life." - author unknown

Yeesh, all this talk of re-releasing or remaking a game we've all played. Doesn't anyone want any NEW stuff? Am I seriously the only one? I still have FFVI in it's American SNES Final Fantasy III form and I still consider it my favorite FF title. I do not want it remade. I do not want it rereleased--again.

I would much rather have some new games that I haven't already played to death.

I said in the op that I have barely played this game. I would rather have it remade on a handheld than play a rom. You have to remember even though you were into RPGs then, they were not mainstream until ff7... alot of people missed out on this game.

Square always outsources these remakes. They are not putting their own teams to work on this. You are not getting any fewer new games.

Also: this is an old game and younger people (and many others) have not had an opportunity to play it. They deserve that chance.

It's an eerie balance, Resident_Hazard. With a new game, you have an unknown title that may or may not be any good; sometimes you can trust that it will satisfy you based on the track record of the developer and/or series, but often you can't be sure at all. With a remake of a game you already know suits your tastes, the odds are much greater that the end result will be something you will enjoy.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

and while I have the ps1 ports of it my SNES cart is mysteriously missing (actually i know who would have it but they deny having any of the other games ive made claims to so this would be no different) so I would actually want to have it in cart form

as for saying you would rather them bring out new stuff? The Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery say hello :P They remakes can still be done concurrently.

This is Final Fantasy VI we're talking about.  If they missed it on the SNES, Playstation, and the Game Boy Advance, then that's their own fault.

It's getting a little ridiculous.
