Forums - Sony - SCE: Things are looking up. Is a price cut really out of the question?

I would be happy if they cut the price in April, and start gaining market share(or so I hope).

heres a few scenarios

cut the price in time for kz2 = massive sales

cut the price in time for holiday '09 = massive sales

$50 cut in time for kz2 then another $50 for holiday '09 = massive sales

either way you put it 2009 will be the year you see a $299 ps3

Would be glad to see a pricecut in Q1 or Q2 09

Should be

"barring the ever decreasing value of the Dollar and Euro versus the Yen"

1) You mean MLB 09 The Show
2) They need to bring out GT5 with damage modeling, dynamic weather and all the goodies (read car manufacturers, they are still missing lambos, buggattis and a couple of others). Like you said, GT5 and GOW III and Killzone 2 and Home have been eating up money while not generating any revenue/profits. When they release, they should generate some money.
3) I don't think the yen-dollar ratio will go anywhere over 100 - 1 anytime soon, that's bad for Sony, if the ratio was 130 - 1 they would be in good shape and would've dropped the price already....Nintendo would've bought a small country by now.

I'm sure GT5P softened the blow of GT5 a good bit.

The dollar was on the rise as of late.  Hence the prices of gas falling etc.

And this hurts Sony because the Yen is getting weaker.

The euro & dollar gained over the Yen the last week

yea like 2 cents.
