Forums - Sales - According to the JP Preview, WKC may be the best selling HD JRPG in Japan!

This is hilarious, why does everyone argue in this "two wrongs make a right" style.

The people who predicted less than 200k are just plain stupid or fanboys or just loopy and maybe taking a potshot at being a correct.

Like those "guess how many sweets are in the jar" games at fairs.

1. This is the 1st proper JRPG on the PS3.

2. This is Japan.

3. PS3 JRPG fans are dying for a JRPG.

These 3 facts mean that there is no way it could have possibly done any worse than it has give or take 10k. I don't care what Famitsu review gave it, its a JRPG on a console that doesn't have ANY AT ALL.

This has nothing even to do with the PS3 in reality. All it means is that people in Japan still buy JRPGs and we already knew this.

In the real world we can only compare its sales with install base (for people who want to associate a sales link between JRPGPS3Xbox 360 - not me) With the factual data we have, we can see that this has tanked in those terms and certainly won't be changing any minds on JRPG console choice for the managment.

This game has been hyped up to the max as per all PS3 games and it has sold only a little more than Xbox 360 JRPG with more than 3 x install base.

No matter what way to spin it the data says the PS3 is much less attractive statistically and in potential revenue per user than the Xbox 360 - EVEN IN JAPAN!

Now lets see how it performs in the US versus the Xbox 360s JRPG's and we'll all have a REAL LAUGH!

This is in no way a slander at the PS3, don't get me wrong. It's my opinion on clutching at straws that the OP is doing. I wouldn't even be commenting if it wasn't for deluded overly optimistic verging on borderline ignorant statements that are being made regarding WKC.

Again, I shall reiterate it's not about what member on VGchartz said what and therefore it has sold well. It's about what is to be expected from a highly hyped first of its kind release in a games number 1 (ratio of console owner to potential buyer) target market.

On those terms, which are the most important terms when you wash away the fanboy PS3 VS Xbox 360 drivel - It hasn't even raised an eyebrow.

Hmm wait are you basing those opinions on comparing one week long sales of PS3 game versus few months of sales data of x360 games ?

oh yeah thats why JRPG are selling X2 in america what they sell in japan?

install base its nothing if people are not buying, as u can see if that were the case wii games would be selling 2-3 millions easily and thats not the case aside own nintendo games.

as for japan a jrpg exclusive would sell better than 360 on the ps3, u think they care about ratio?

its selling better on the ps3, they get more sales, no matter how big the base it, either way, what you are pointing its the xbox36. should not get games in japan if the install base it's so important.

What's an "HDRPG" and what makes it different from 99.9% of the rest of the genre?

It actually stemmed from a thread that starcraft made a while ago about how the PS3 has not proven itself to sell JRPGs, moreso than the 360 has.

I threw "HD" into the title so we could focus on that.  Obviously the Wii (or DS) are the king of selling JRPGs, and the 360 is the king of WRPGs, but this is simply talking about Japanese sales of Japanese centric games.

Why is this about me?

What is everyone else presenting? A Fanboy tainted over optimistic outlook.

At the OP, don't make stupid threads and you won't get people telling you your stupid in the polite way in which I am doing!

the best selling JRPG in japan for the 360 is blue dragon which has sold a little over 200k in japan LTD. WKC has has sold more than blue dragon in in only 1 week. so your post makes no sense.

OK no problem.

I didn't mean to come in and spoil a party, I thought it was for honest sales discussion.

That is the problem with this place, its hard to know if a thread is just a dirty little brown nosing session or a genuine thread for mature open discussion. When you say something people don't like even if you actually believe what your saying, nobody bothers to put you right they just call you a "hater" and try to discredit you.

None of my posts have been slanderous towards the PS3, I have implied negative sentiment to PS3 fanboys because generally it is they who take themselves so seriously yet make threads that are hysterically wrong and amusing.

My bone is not with a piece of plastic it is with people who worship this piece of plastic and talk crazy for doing so!

While I still have my dignity I will leave forthwith.
