The only reason I only mentioned "HD" was because XBOX 360 owners were the ones saying "PS3 can't sell JPRGs," and the like. It was a dumb argument to begin with, but at least now it's put to rest. Likely, it'll outsell every 360 JRPG in Japan, which should be enough to keep this argument down.

It's also the reason Stickball is all over this thread, because he was grossly incorrect in agreeing with that sentiment.

On a sidenote to stickball, IDK how you could enjoy any of the 360 JRPGs, save for LO and ToV, but seeing as that you didn't play PS1 JRPGs, your standards must be extremely low. Xenogears is probably one of the best JRPGs around, like Euphoria said, and you owe it to yourself to play some good JRPGs like that. Not mediocre ones like LO and the like. And don't get me started on IU, BD, and TLR.

Ummm....you do know that Level 5 made DQ VIII which sold millions of copies in Japan alone! They also made DQ IX which will sell millions of copies on the DS in Japan as well. Not to mention their ever popular Professor Layton series.

Kinda shows how much HD RPGS are a point in futility since the only things that are going to sell in numbers justifying HD devlopment costs are Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Pokemon... (and maybe Kingdom Hearts)

And said games would sell perfectly fine without said development costs as well.

This is kinda of like the Knicks celebrating beating the Wizards... when the Cavs have run up the score on them both.

Hopefully deves keep getting the money from Sony and Microsoft to make these games... and i hate the DS small screen.

The highest selling HD JRPG really isn't saying much in all honesty.

I honeslty thought it would have done more first week, judging by first day sales (wasn't it around 140k or something?).

Sorry I forgot about Professor Layton but in terms of anything Dragon Quest they May make the game but its not selling millions because its them Making it. Its making millions because 

A) its A Square-Enix Title

B) Its Dragon Quest in Japan From Software can make the game and it'll still sell millions

C) its their first HD RPG and the first HD RPG to bring these kind of numbers to Japan in such a short amount of time
