In any case, whether sony makes it or not there will be atleast one thread saying they are overtracked / undertracked. Or even more impressively both... at the same time !

I think this thread would be better reserved for when the Q3 financial results come in, next month.

Hum, I went four different best buys to find the dark knight blu ray. All the best buys were sold out of the blu ray. 3 out of the 4 were sold out of PS3s and wiis. 360s and ps still some left.  who knows might be gone now.

Just because its been selling pretty slow for a couple of months doesn't mean it will fall short. In fact, the ps3 is doing twice as better as it did in 2007. Also, in 2009, Sony is expecting to make huge profits of the PS3.

I suspect that Q4 shipments will be really low, unless retailers have predicted the low holiday season sales correctly. If they haven't, it will be hard for Sony to ship any significant amount in Q4. The point is, as you said we can probably be pretty sure after the next report (January 31). Until then it's hard to say for sure, but it doesn't look as sure as it did a few weeks ago.

Then again, Sony can always ship some consoles to Sony Style stores to make up the difference :P

We'll just have to wait and see
