I don't hate you. I really don't often hate people. I only develop hatreds for people who are either rude to me or troll a lot (specific to Vgchartz) or both. I wouldn't say you're my favorite poster ever, but I don't hate you at all. That's just silly. And since I'm a sandwich fanboy, that would make you a fanboy of...other threads? I'm not quite sure. Brawl?

Do we really want Nintendo to tap in there? I mean sure playing a FPS now and then is fine but I don't want 15 of them released in 2 years, I rather have platformers, adventure games or RPG's then FPS, even if Wii controls are perfect for them.

Yeah, I have it on the 360, actually (it was $35 new). My first comment maybe was pointless, I just found an opportunity for some Resistance bashing, ignore it .

My point is, the Japanese support for HD consoles won't be nearly as strong as the Wii's. I specifically said "the more niche Japanese stuff" because most of their games aren't very popular in the west. People into the games like Valkyria Chronicles, Tales of Vesperia, Disgaea 3, Lost Odyssey/Blue Dragon etc. have games to look forward to for the Wii.

Actually, I'm curious. To those who have no interest in the Wii, have you ever enjoyed a Nintendo console? Sounds to me like the game preferences lean towards PC over NES/SNES. Personally I enjoyed both, just wondering.

I think the Wii already has a fair amount of buy-in from hardcore gamers, but I don't think it will gain widespread approval from hardcore gamers until the system starts getting a long string of third-party blockbusters like PS2 had.

There are actually a lot of interesting games for Wii this holiday: de Blob, Mushroom Men, Wario Land, Castlevania, Dokapon Kingdom and, yes, Wii Music...but they're not "AAA" blockbusters.

If/when we start seeing other third parties support Wii with games like Dragon Quest X and Monster Hunter III, that's when hardcore gamers will have to throw in the towel and give Wii a nod of approval...even if they still don't like it or buy it.

All that said, the whole purpose of Wii was to get away from the red ocean of hardcore gaming: look at what it's doing to companies like EA, Sony, Factor 5, Free Radical, and Take Two. There's plenty of bad news for companies that cater to hardcore gamers this Christmas.

I'm confused, you guys keep saying the wii is so successful because it stayed away from the hardcore, yet you want hardcore gamers to want it. More over, you guys keep bragging on how much hard core games the wii will have soon.
