Actually I liked the reused buildings on the side quests. Makes perfect sense for me in an era of rapid colonization for the colonists to use cookie-cutter prefabricated dwellings.

Its a sequal. Bioware will farm it out to Obsidian.

And what does that have to do with Fable? As for BioWare, Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, Planescape, KOTOR, and Jade Empire gave me plenty of faith.

Credit where credit is due. Torment's content was all Black Isle baby. Only the engine was liscenced from Bioware. The line gets blurry on a lot of these as Black Isle had the exclusive publishing rights to AD&D games for a while so both names ended up on a lot of Bioware developed titles of that time period.
As for Squillam hes on the fast track to becoming the offical jokester of the Xbox enthuisats.

So, it being reasonable to conclude that those few things will be addressed, can you understand why there are many that consider Mass Effect II (and yes, it deserves the Roman numerals) to be their most anticipated game this gen? I'm genuinely hoping for a 2009 release, even though Dragon Age (as DJM and others brought out) is making me feel skerd and sad. Oh, and to the OP, how did the first game end on a cliffhanger? I don't know how to do spoiler tags here, so I'll try to change the text color. So, highlight to read spoiler text -> though we know the threat of the Reavers is still out there, they currently have no way to get to our part of the galaxy so there is no imminent threat. Am I wrong? |
I've got a spoiler warning in the title so its not important, say what you want.
My interpretation is that the weight of the galaxy just fell on humanity's shoulders. They must lead all the intelligent species into a battle of profound importance against the Reapers.
I don't think it will take them that long to get here. The significance of the Citadel is it allows them to wipe out the hub of the Galaxy's intelligent species early on.

The reapers cant get here now the keepers have been reprogrammed as they opened the gate when the reapers signalled. I think humanity may take the battle to them as it's now on our terms, unless they have other gates nearby.
But the whole point of the Citadel wasn't to offer the only way for the Reapers to get here, but for the Reapers to have a way to wipe out the Galaxy's central command with impunity.
I'm sure the game's universe will find simple ways for the Reapers to cause us all manner of hurt.

hmm On one hand I can't wait to play it so I hope in 2009.
On the other hand, there are still some titles this year I want to get and don't have moneyu for, and Blizzard will put a hurting on my 2009 finances, so I can wait for 2010 in that reguard.
Wish List: I could see where a deeper Leveling system/more abilities would be nice.
My number 1 wish is still ROCKET LAUNCHER!!
granted I'm not finished with one, but, More planet exploring with less TANK/APC levels.
need to fix: Getting stuck in relitivly small ruts requiring restart/load
If framerate lagging and rendering issues were in fact developers fault, that needs fixing too.
Oh oihhhh! Creat a level/dungeon with sharing over Live would be cool.
Multiplayer is definatly needed.
... I would also implement (if I were making the game) a larger scale combat situation. What I mean is by the end of the game your no longer just a squad leader but a platoon leader, and your last battles/missions are like 7-man and 9 man missions, you have accrued 18 soldiers throughout the game, and over all larger scale of things as the story has progressed. Does that make sense to everyone?

OH and I want the tank to be upgradable as well (Again I'm only level 32 so maybe I haven't gotten that yet). To me the fact that the turret gun
Also maybe the ability to acquire/buy new tanks and models with different steering and armors and such could be cool too.

OH and VRU for commanding the squad through the headset, that would be sweet.

Well of course. Bioware DOES have this story mapped out as a trilogy. But, at the end of ME, there is no imminent threat from the Reapers (I accidentally said Reavers earlier ... I miss Firefly ......). We know of no other way for them to teleport from the outskirts of the Milky Way galaxy to where the Council species live. That's been stopped. So the galaxy is safe for now. There is no cliffhanger ending, like Halo 2, Gears of War, Beyond Good and Evil, etc. The conflict established in the first game (particularly with Saren) is done.
