At least Bioware has the universe established now and hopefully Mass Effect 2 will be a real game that shows off what they can do. I did like the dozen or so hours in the main quest line well enough to definitely be looking forward to the sequel.

There is some severe negativity here.  I spent 30 hours on my first ME playthrough.  Of that, 25 hours was full of win, and 5 hours was three quarters full of win.

The Mako wasn't perfect, but it wasnt broken either.  It had a distinctive set of capabilities that was intended to be limiting, though it wasn't everyone's cup of tea.

Ok Starcraft, ya bloody blighter! Ya goaded me into it.

I want:

1. More varied side quests and each world to be unique, not just the same building over and over.

2. I want the planets to be less rocky so its easier to navigate them, and the APC to be easier to control.

3. I want the actual dialogue to be improved so that when I replay the game in a different way I can have different conversations.

4. Fix the frame-rate drops.

When Mass Effect shipped I couldn't help but feel it was rushed for release, it needed another six months in the cooker at least. It felt like a beta.

This is incorrect. It was one of the very first games installed by many people and unfortunately, a hard drive installation does nothing to reduce the texture pop-in or frame rate issues.

And if I'm displaying severe negativity towards Mass Effect, well, Bioware deserves it. That game needed at least another six months in the oven. Bioware spent so much time working on the universe for Mass Effect that they forgot to make half of their game.

And what does that have to do with Fable?

As for BioWare, Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, Planescape, KOTOR, and Jade Empire gave me plenty of faith.

I'd like to be able to go to Earth, though I suspect this will be in Mass Effect 3 if they're to do it at all.

Not sure how likely this is, but since there's supposed to be some tie-in to your save game from ME1, I think it would be super sweet if both Alenko and Williams were in the game and you got to use which ever one you didn't Left 4 Dead.

Also: Wrex sex scene.
