As subjective as these things are, it is not unheard of or unreasonable for RPG fans to argue that the first Mass Effect was the best game of this generation so far.  Certainly it had the best dialogue system of this generation and one of the best storylines seen in recent years of gaming.

For me personally, Mass Effect 2 has thus become my most anticipated title.  Without spoiling anything for those that have not completed the first title, it's safe to say that Mass Effect (the first title in an anticipated trilogy) ended in an absolute cliffhanger.  The fate of the galaxy continues to hang in the balance.

As such, I'm looking for speculation as to the release date of Mass Effect 2.  Do you believe it will make it into 2009?  Or perhaps later.  Also, feel free to include any wishes or hopes you have for content, storyline and character development.  Any news you have on the title that hasn't already been mentioned would be great too.

If mass effect 2 comes out next year , the J man would be one happy messiah.

If they make the main story a little longer and fix up the mako levels and pop in there is no doubt in the J mans mind that mass effect 2 will get 10/10.

cant wait for ME2 as ME is the best game I have ever played - period. I've completed it twice and lent it to a mate and just listening to him talk about where he's up to makes me itch to play it through again as he reckons installing it to hard drive speeds it up a lot.

Really cant see any reason why ME2 wouldn't make holiday 09 release date.

Played ME twice on the 360, and almost done with a PC run through. One of my favorite games ever.

I won't be buying this game. Fable 2 is better, will remain better and be always better than any Mass Effect games.

So by that logic I take it you only buy one title per genre?

Well they said that the trilogy would be release on the 360 so I expect a release in 2009 and the third one in 2011. I really hope it will be available on PS3 too, I got the first one on 360 and it's a nice game (not perfect btw).
