I am thinking about trading my PS3 in at Gamestop in an attempt to get either a Wii or DS and some games for the one that I get.  Do you think it would be a good move?  Should I aim for the Wii or DS?  How many games do you think I would have to trade in as well?

Why would you do this with Killzone 2, Gran Turismo 5, God of War 3, Final Fantasy XIII Versus, etc, just around the corner? :O

If you are not enjoying your PS3 or there is not much ahead that you don't want for it then go for it. I really can't help you with that part since only you know. But with the other part each have there strengths. DS has way to many RPGs while the Wii has Nintendo games and diffrent kinds of games (ex:NMH, De blob and Okami). Depends on your tastes...

Almost 50 million Wii's sold. They're starting to hit the exclusivity line. The PS3 being blasted by the 360, Wii, and DS during the holiday sales period. I'm falling for all the Wii propaganda I've been fighting against for so long. My PS3 gives me a 80710102 error and refuses to connect to the internet. I haven't been able to play Mario Galaxy or Twilight Princess. Games like Kizuna and some of the other rpgs look like they will be good. They are getting Dragon Warrior X. Can Kingdom Hearts 3 and a Wii remake of FFVII really be that far from announcement as well? I can get FFXIII for my 360.  If there comes a time when I could need a PS3, its price will be lower than what it is now, but I might be able to get a good trade-in value on the PS3 I have now.

Why do you want to sell it? NEVER go to gamestop for trade ins, they rip you off bad, as another poster suggested use ebay.

I swapped my ps3 for something else, if you really want to, do it. I dont know what gamestop is like, but make sure you get what its worth

But Killzone 2 is just another FPS, GT5 is only if you like Hardcore Racing games(it will be a good purchase), GoW3 should be fun, FF V XIII is at least 2 years away for the Americas it is a spin off to the main game and probably best suited for the biggest FF fans(to date I have not played a good FF spin off game).

Maybe he just likes the library of games on the Wii better. At least I hope that is why. If he doesn't than he shouldn't it woudl be a big mistake. I Know myself personally play the Wii at least 8 times more than the PS3 and it woudl be 10 times more if I didn't buy Megaman 9 at the PSN store. It is like all things a matter of taste.

Or I could just say why wouldn't he with The Conduit, Madworld, Dragon Quest X, Super Punch Out, Sin & Punishment 2, Fatal Frame 4, and other games coming out for the Wii?
