I can only say that the fear can be quite logical. HD gamers are scared of becoming a niche market again and thus getting less games of lesser quality.
Whos hating on the wii? I see no hating!

There are all kinds of meltdowns on this site. PS3 hate and 360 hate too. Just the pendulum effect.

Thats funny cause I laugh at HD console fanboys and their endless metacritic/gamerankings pissing contests. I'd rather play fun games than highly rated ones. I am just used to not having to hear endless bitching about how the games I love aren't good enough because some arbitrary measure is the only way to try and tear them down.
With all the surprising stuff that has happened this gen my mind is still thinking about how the next is gonna be. When the Wii2 outsells the Bible and Nintendo finaly becomes a cult and all, do you think Sony and/or Microsoft's fanboys will have the same respect that old school consoles fanboys have today or it'll still be funny to see them complain about how Ninty "ruined gaming"?
Quem disse que a boca é tua?
Qual é, Dadinho...?
Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

By the time third parties start actually putting out games on the Wii, this generation is going to be almost over. I really don't see what anyone is celebrating about. HD consoles are doing terrible in sales but still getting a lot of games, and the Wii is doing great in sales but is still getting the short end of the stick on games. |
the same could have been said about the DS after 2 years. The Wii has a much better lineup after 2 years than the DS to add.
You see, I was just thinking about something, in the past people were ALWAYS hypeing the next console, 1 year out. I do not see people really clamoring for the next gen, this gen has had a slower adoption rate than expected (Wii does not count since many people buying then were not appart of last gen). I see this gen going 6-7 year before a new console reaches. I was worried MS would rush out another Console again, but now the 360 is doing to well, it will gen more time.
Do you REALLY think MS will launch the next xbox in 2010 to keep up the usually 5 year time space? We have heard nothing yet. 2011 is the soonest MS will launch, Nintendo maybe 2012... the PS4 could be 2012 or 13. either way they wii has plenty off time, and I am starting to feel my patience has paid off (besides I own a PS3, if the wii is in a quality drought Ill get a PS3 game to hold me over, right now the only HD games I am antipating are FF13 and GT5...)
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
Change never comes without those who resist it, and some revolutions are a hard fight against the old, entrenched ways. The NES was an easy revolution, but the NES entered into a vacuum. The DS/Wii stepped into an industry that was seeing unprecedented levels of success, and said "no, this is wrong. Let's fix it" despite the fact that it didn't really need fixing at the time.
Now, of course, it's easier to see. Revenues are up, but profits are non-existant, which seems to be hurting most everyone, except those who have invested more heavily in Nintendo products. Ubisoft, as much as we hate what they do on Wii, is in the black. So is the hated Activision. SEGA isn't doing particularly well, but they are bouncing back. EA, TakeTwo, and others that spurned the platform or simply gave lip service to it are doing poorly. Midway basically ignored the platform, and is now on the brink of annihilation
Things are going Nintendo's way now, in the sense that now they are in the position to start breaking down the "hardcore resistance" due to these financial developments. SEGA shall hopefully be the beginning of a turnaround in quality core support, though Ubisoft's TMNT game and publishing of NMH2 show more positive signs from them, too

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
I love when someone say anything you guys don't like about Nintendo and the wii, its got to be hate. Nintendo is not exempt from criticism, OK. They make mistakes, bad games, bad decision, bad moves just like every company. So deal with it.
