quickdraw, have you even looked at what Halo 3 is going to have...what there introducing in it? I suggest you take a look, because you cant tell me that a game of that caliber, with that much content, and that much stuff isnt in the running. Out of those game you listed off, Mass Effect is definitly there, Rock Band looks amazing, SSBB would be tons of fun, and CoD is awesome. But out of those you listed the only one that can go toe to toe with Halo 3 for GOTY is Mass Effect...Halo 3 just has too much amazing stuff...I mean 4 player campaign co-op...all the vehicles...just the pure story...which is way, way, way above the average FPS.

Must you guys halo all over every thread ??? I like Halo a lot and am looking forward to play part 3 (still have to play part 2 though, never got around to play it), still I´m going to ceep my opinion about it to myself until I´ve played it, same thing should go for all the other unproven games, yes they will be great but lets argue about just how great until we know.

This however does not count for Mss Effect.... why ??? Its Bioshock...they ALWAYS deliver. The only question for me is can it beat the Baldurs Gate games for beeing my favorite game ever ??? Even if it doesn´t it will be great, I could easily wait till next year to get a 360 with all the great Wii games coming out this year but this game will make me get one as soon as I can get a Falcon.

From what I see the story will be more complex (in a good way) and player influenced than both KOTOR and BG1+2, the fighting seem to still be true AD&D rules but other than KOTOR you will do the fighting yourself and you get tactical elements like in R6:V, plus this is the first charackter dev. kit that impresses me, not like some where every face looks the same... or just plain ugly like in Oblivion.

And who gives a damn about what makes game of the year ??? there are so many great games from so many areas releasing this year that there will be more than enough for 5 games of the year, it´s just a stupid popularity contest like the oscars, winning or not winning this will not make a game better or worse, all this award will do is make some fanboys do geeky dances infront of their computers, so let it go already.

In my top 5 games of the year and my most anticipated 360 game.

And seriously I can think of 10 games off the top of my head that are going to be worthier GOTY candidates than Halo 3.

Defiantly my most anticipated game for around the next half a year. I don’t own a 360 yet but this game alone is the main reason why I’m going to end up getting one. I haven’t been this impressed by a game I knew nothing about by a few trailer for a long while. I’m particularly impressed by the NPC system. It’s also refreshing for a science fiction setting rather than a fantasy one for once.

yeap.... and it's suposed to be a trilogy with the possibility to reuse your character built in the previous one... that's awesome idea... imagine at the end of the 2nd one what you'll be able to do.... at the end of the 3rd master yoda and count dokku will look like fags lol....

about halo you'll have to tell me how it's average story like other FPS/tps??? I don't try to start an opinion war... but I play a lot of FPS... and I haven't seen any in the past 6 year having a story at all.... doom 3 none.. GOW almost none... HL 2 not much either.... etc... and all the COD and else are using history so not much original there either...
after if you like halo story or not is another matter... but at list it has one...

but right now I would put ME and BS on top of halo 3 but once again we don't know much about halo 3 yet

And you you could already use your old charakter from Baldurs Gate 1 in part 2, but if you started part 2 with a new one you where about the same level as if you imported one, and since your items got stolen you started form scratch on way or the other, but some could be re-found and most items where better in part 2 so it wasn´t a big deal, you could also add many charakters from part one with whom you had a history, gave the games much more a feel of beeing one game not just part one and two. One of many reasons the are my favorite RPG of all.  

Lets hear them gitanil. Me personally can only think of 3 games that have potential to pass up Halo 3. Number one is Mass Effect, 2 is Bioshock, and 3 is possibly The Orange Box...thats it. CoD4 is not GOTY worthy. Dont get me wrong it looks sweet, but its not...its a CoD game. There are a couple of Wii games, but I dont own one, so I havent looked at them hard enough, but ive heard about a few. Im saying that there is a 70% Halo 3 will be GOTY, and Mass Effect is definitly second, but it still wont beat Halo 3.

BUT, is anyone else worried about the actual combat? So far it seems to consist of using some power to throw an enemy into the air and then shooting them while they're floating around helplessly. Not too exciting.

nah that's what they showed you.... you character might not even be able to throw them.... it depends what kind of character you are doing... the system is very similar to kotor in better.. you don't have to switch your character apparently and the access to the different commands seem easy.... look at the blue menu in the video that shows you all the short cut for your 3 party member.. and I guess you have more in the menu....

like every game they show you always the same kind of thing so you still have surprises... for example I learn that in halo 3 they still have plenty of weapon unrevealed and apparently some vehicles too.... etc....

well don't worry knowing them they'll do something kick ass as usual


@ el duderino... yeah yeah I know about baldure's gate... I have the big maxy deluxe pack with 1 and 2 plus all the add ones and some goodies etc... great game but it's not really the same kind of RPG.... but you are right.... I didn't think of it when I wrote the post..

Forget Halo. If any game is capable to selling me a 360, its this.

I so hope they end up doing something for the Wii in the future...
