I knew many ps2 fanboys, probably proportional to xbox/gc (i.e. around 6:2:1, xbox was much more popular than gc in my circles), but there were still a significant number. However, back in the early 2000s, many of them weren't as internet savvy as they are now.

I agree, I hate that word with a passion when it's used in conjunction with gaming. Load of bullshit. It should be used and remain used where it belongs and where it has always belonged - outside of gaming and in every day activities such as sports and sex.

Thats what i thought. Its slightly effeminate, you play with ragdoll's and dress them up. I dont care if its Solid Snake or Zangeef, its dolls man.

So its definetily not casual, Mario isn't, what it is instead is something i don't care to quantify.

I will say this,and this is a lesson taught by Mario 64 and others, the levels are short and sweet. You drop in and out, pace yourself or have just one quick game. That's casual style of play certainly.

To conclude, playing with dolls is disturbing on the PS3, on the PS2 or Ninty systems not so much. This is why the PS3 users have been quite divided on this particular title.

Right on Katilian. A few weeks ago i was playing around on Resistance 2 and a boy (who sounded like a kid, but i may be mistaken given the poor quality of the sound) said i sucked because i wasn't hardcore enough to be playing that game.
I for one, having played through almost every console that existed (yeah even the infamous Jaguar), and still gaming about 30 hours a week, found myself very sad with that statement.

It seems nowadays the gaming community is trying to split itself instead of being united like it was a few years ago. I have fond memories of bringing a couple of my friends, who only played Mortal Kombat, to have an afternoon playing Zelda, and they all loved it, but doing it now, if it doesn't have anything with guns, they hate it...

LBP is a lot fun and can be equally enjoyed by everybody.

Wrong -- there weren't many fanboy WARS (which still supports your point).  PS2 was the obvious winner.  Not that Wii isn't the obvious winner THIS time, but Nintendo fanboys were used to losing by then, so they could accept the inevitable more gracefully.  Last time, the Xbox fanboys were still incubating and didn't expect to win anyway, but 2005-6 gave them a taste of victory and they were not prepared to see Nintendo come up from behind.
