On this site, does "America" refer to the entire Americas or just the United States?

So those numbers are added in "others" rather than in the Americas?

No, I believe the split is

America = Americas (South Americas + North America)

Japan = Japan

Others = Europe, Africa, all of Asia but Japan, Oseania and the poles (you'd be amazed by how much the Ps3 sells in antactica).
