Forums - Gaming - Music while gaming

I don't know if this thread has already been made, i've done some research and have found nothing of the sort, so here goes.

It's a custom of mine to play some music in the background while i'm enjoying my games, mostly i do it while gaming on my pc. I just want to ask you, if some of you also do it, and what kind of music do you usually let rampant through your sound system? :D

I usually let rip some Apocalyptica, Rammstein or Moonspell when i'm playing my FPS or some Enigma, Inkubus Sukkubus, Nightwish, Within Temptation and Lacuna Coil when i'm immersed in my RPG's, what about you?

The ps3 and 360 have this feature... lol

You can't do it with PS3.

Yes you can, with some games

I know leo-j ;) but i've got my ps3 hooked up to a 7.1 dolby HD surround system, i just can't get enough of it, so i almost never hear any music while playing the ps3 ;)

I usually listen to music when im on sports games, as the commentary is insignificant

I only listen to music thats not in the game in FPSs, then I tend to listen to stuff like Pendulum, Prodigy, Justice, Simian Mobile Disco, MSTRKRFT, Daft Punk.

Edit: Oh and I always have 1 headphone in an ear playing the sound from the fps while my iPod does the rest.

I think the thread's more about the choice of music rather than how you play it.

Personally, DS on silent for me, ipod plugged in the ears and let it play on shuffle...

Depends on the game obviously. I love the fallout 3 music already in game, giving it the early 1900s american feel. It's too bad they didn't have as much breadth of music as GTA series does.

BTW on topic: I always just listen to the music in the game.
