For the most part the core gamers sites are losing love for the Wii because they know that Wii is just not for them anymore.  Most of the those writers and editors are single white males who have roommates then families with kids.  So to them they are just not interested in Wii Fit or Animal Crossing when they can play Halo or Gears.  Mario Kart and SSBB is fun but they can play Soul Caliber IV and Wipeout HD with their buddies who are not in the industry. 

Look at the cast of 1up Yours.  Garnett is married but no kids who drinks heavily.  Shane a single guy who I believe lives with a cat and David Ellis, another single minded guy who into sports and shooters.  John is the only one on there with a family and for most part champions the good of the Wii but knows not even try to sell it as a core machine. He knows that the games are for the mainstream audience and he can see how well most of those games will fit in that lifestyle, especially through the eyes of his young sons.  

Like it or not, the Wii dismissed has a lot non Nintendo core gamers this year, so those core game writers and podcasters have dimissed the Wii this year.  Maybe next year...

You dont know? Even SDF a parody site calls 1up Microsoft defense force, and its not a parody site. Theyre too biased at the 360...

You don't need to be a "grafix whore" to prefer that Wii gets more games that are tailored to it's strengths and not gimped PS360 ports.

I'm loving my Wii right now. But I'll be playing the quality game I have for it very slowly knowing that a lot of developers make crap games for a quick buck.

Nothing of note about gaming journalism has actually changed in the last 20 years. The real difference now is that the self-proclaimed "gaming press" has set itself against the mainstream opinion, and thus the smokescreen is cleared and the truth is revealed: that the quality of this writing remains as childish as it was back when Nintendo Power was gushing about how 'rad' and 'awesome' every game that came out was.

the thing is (only having read the OP at this point) the wii really hasn't given the online community any reason to praise it for the past six months. In fact just the opposite. They aren't there to be nuetral, they are giving their view. And while it may be a bit over the top, Nintendo hasn't done much this year to allay that kind of speech. In fact they've done alot to make it worse (wii music and Animal crossing specifically).

also another beef is this idea of "professional" videogame journalism. Anybody ever listen to sports talk shows, or sports writing? Watch any political shows, or read political commentary? Anybody? Since when have sports commentators spoken equally of all teams and players? Since when did they make sure that no team got it's feelings hurt, or never said anything negative (deserved or undeserved) about coaches/players/teams/fans? Since when did political commentators make sure to play nice with all the candidates and present all of their views as valid? It's a videogame talk show, and listening to it I can't tell the difference between it and any other talk show.

Sorry if it hurts your feelings that they don't give blowjobs to your system of choice, but that isn't there job. They are their to voice their views of the industry and Nintendo has given them an abundance of ammo to voice their feelings. Sorry if they aren't the right demographic. Maybe they should have a 1up show soccermom edition so you can get some positive feedback on the wii. But they are the core gamer, and they are mirroring the views of most core gamers right now. I have a wii and love it, but it's sucked ass this second half of the year, sorry. I don't feel offended when they say those things, I know where they are coming from.

Hateful people? Nintendo does not need them. Wii and core games does just fine!
