Game Title - Tomb Raider Underworld

Avail System - PS3, 360, Wii

Wii - $29.99, Animations are more mechanical/robotic making it more difficult to control. Camera mapped to D-Pad makes it jittery and hard to control, low-res port of the 360 and PS3 versions, choppy animation, significantly more jaggy, least rewarding of the bunch

PS3 - $49.99, no Trophies, capped at 720p, choppy especially when moving the camera in big environments

360 - $49.99, Achievements, better framerate than PS3, 1080i/1080p upscaled,

Verdict - 1. 360 2. PS3 3. Wii

Better framerate always wins over better graphics. +1

Achievements are also a good selling point.

There is always the possibility of a Trophy patch. Also it can't be that good of a selling point if the PS3 version is outselling it.

There is a possibility of a Trophy patch for every PS3 game, but the point is currently there is no support.  Also, sales do not dictate which verson is better.  Not by a long shot.  There are quite a few games that are better on PS3 yet have higher sales then their 360 counterpart

For more fun see this thread.

It is to me. Games with Achievements have priority over games that don't, in my library.

wow first game where the resolution difference is really remarkable. The pixels and aliasing effects in the 360 version are pretty annoying. IT would be a bigger "win" for PS3 owners if this was a better game though. Eidos...

How come the first game ever where the PS3 version is actually a higher resolution, you try to pretend that "this is the first game where the resolution difference is really "remarkable.""

You sir, are simply biased, and either viewing these images through rose colored glasses, or lying about what you see.

As far as I remember, the only game that has a higher res on X360 than on PS3 game GTA IV (640p). This one runs at 576p.

On both the difference is remarkable, although TRU has some annoying effects (like he said) that GTA IV PS3 hadn't, compared to the X360 version.

The bolded part is completely inaccurate, however, I'm not here to argue with you. Just think what you want. If you care to investigate my accuracy, then feel free.

Off the top of my head, I believe Bioshock, and Soul Calibur 4(and nearly every mutliplat this gen) has a slightly lower native "just scan" resolution on the PS3.

Not that you can tell, depending on the size of your TV.

To be completely honest, I didn't even look at the pictures, or click the link. I know the poster. I'm not ignorant enough to believe him.

Strange choice of games there : Bioshock has better res videos on PS3, and Soul Calibur IV looks better on PS3. If the res is lower, then it's texture sizes must be like 10000x10000 lol. To tell you the truth, almost every game has better textures on the PS3 setting it to full RGB mode and adjusting contrast/brightness the right way.

I really don't know or care about Bioshock.

I was going by this thread:

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=46820

Anyway, one thing is obvious. If you havn't seen one of the trillion threads with links from the various tech forums around the net, posted everytime a multiplat is released(like this one) most of which claim that the 360 version has higher rez but worse textures, then you really have been living in a cave for the past two years, my friend. The stigma is there, and every other mutliplat has slightly lower rez figures on the PS3 according to most of these types of posts.

When I tell you I don't really know or care much about this subject, I'm being honest, and in that vein I'm gonna tell you right now, I honestly don't think you know what the hell you're talking about. You don't seem to have the knowledge to even overpower me on the technical side of this argument, and that's saying a lot.
