Forums - Gaming - Nintendo Hatred is Getting Disrespectful

"Personally, I could care less what people think."

Then why start a thread about what they think :P

Does anyone care about other's opinions.  Last I checked opinions are personal truths.  All I heard was you had to respect the right to have an opinion not necessarily care about it haha.

But if you had actually read what I was saying and interpreted correctly(which its doubtful you did) you would notice that was about people's opinions towards the Wii in the context that I don't care if people hate it or what not.  I just care that they respect other members and Nintendo for past achievements.

And this isn't necessarily a thread about what they think.  It's more about what they respect... justice.  Even deeper though, is its about a philosophy in the context of how much freedom can you have before you overstep responsibility and justice.

Really?  I do?  Hell I didn't even know that's what I was doing.  Good thing you pointed it out haha.

But nah seriously what is that even used for.  Got like over $3000 in it and nothing to use it on.

Here's how I see it:

General public don't have the same opinion on the Wii compared to forums. Majority > small group.

Many devs don't have the same ideal as forum people. Especially Japanese ones, and their games are on the only ones I buy! So as long as Japanese people like the Wii and put a lot of their games on it...I'm cool. Don't care about some people on forums.

Well, I stand behind my belief that those who speak the loudest are the ones who actually get people to believe in it or get it done.

When you are successful, people always look for something to bring you down. But, i do believe a lot of people are associating themselves with these companies who could give a crap about you. You are a customer and a fan, they just want your money, stop acting like you are a part of them.

But if that's the case then we'd see the Wii selling less not more while the HD consoles sell a lot more. That means most people don't care about forum people.

No, what I'm saying is new stuff like Wii Music and Wii Fit gets a bad reputation because the loudest (hardcore gaming press) are very vocal on their distaste for it.

BINGO! Tell him what he's won, Bob...

The reality of the situation is that internet forumers are just a SMALL part of the consumer fanbase. To believe that companies focus only on THEM is being very naive. Yes, companies do see what the fanbase has to say, but they don't put their entire attention on them because they are just a small part of what is really a big consumer base. The only way a company that FULLY listen to an internet community is if the problem is big enough that it reaches the mass media and to them directly.

For example, when E3 2008 was over people made is abundantly clear that it sucked, big time. Not only were the internet fans complaining the people there, which includes big wigs from other companies and the media directly attacked the show, especially Nintendo. This forced Nintendo to admit that the show was terrible and made it up with their Fall Conference. They listened because the cries were loud enough and it came from people that truly mattered.

Again, not saying that forums don't matter. They do. That's why they send shills to try and advertise games and send people to monitor community feedback. What I am trying to get at is that they are NOT the deciding factor nor the most important, so trying to cry as loud as possible won't make people notice anytime soon, especially if what you are complaining about is trivial.

Internet posters tend to whine/cry a lot, especially gaming fans. That's just a fact.

The Wii will eventually grow to be accepted even by "hardcore" gamers, much like the DS has, and that largely occurred in the DS' 3rd and 4th years, which the Wii is now headed towards.

The third party stuff for the Wii for 2009 looks a lot better, and with the announcement of Dragon Quest X, expect even more quality projects from Japanese devs at the very least.

I also suspect Wii Motion Plus will allow for the more complex type of control a lot of core gamers have been craving.

Only on teh interwebz. In reality, the games still sell millions :P General public are pretty much saying "**** you" to the Internet.

But it's not like those are the only available Wii games. Some people like to think that's the case but it really isn't which is why I and many others don't care :P

I agree. It does seem to affect Madden, FIFA, and Call of Duty sales at least. That fanbase is told that the Wii version is automatically the worst. Some cases it is, others it isn't.

@ Zucas

Whatever.
