The reason its skies is that these days most RPGs take themselves way too seriously with all those over the top cinematics and emotional stuff. Skies had very little of that and the bounty system and discoveries all conveyed a great feeling of adventure. Nothing since FF6 comes close to it

You also just get the DC version.   And yeah I know the GC version had extra's/more content;

tough choice all great in their own..

TOS has to be the best Gc exclusive rpg..The concept is nothing new, the outside world and enemies looked horrible but the rest is all tops.. great characters and battle system..


Fire emblem series has always been the most tactical and similar to the great ogre battle series so for me its always a winner..i could play this over and over again, fantastic characters.


Paper mario series are always great fun and hilarious as we all know..still for me it doesn't qualify as a traditional rpg..


FFCC is the poorest in my opinion but by no means a bad game..


Baten kaitos 1&2 are the best technically, sound and visuals are great..the unique card system has its pros and cons.


But Skies has to take top honors for me..so imaginative in its narrative and unique in concept..personally the only shortcoming is the game main characters;
Vyse = generic and boring... Aika = passable, has her moments... Fina = she must die a horrible death!..

Having said that...................WHERE IS THE SEQUEL SEGA!!

The reson the GC version is best its when they decided to fix the annoying and incredibly frustrating random fights

while travelling in the DC version..
