Forums - Nintendo - Wow, I am beyond disappointed with Nintendo.

mario kart wii is THE best mario kart game. it is the best balance as far a the skill vrs. luck thing, GREAT tracks, online, Wheel, and so much more. It is better than the original. The only thing I can think of you could even complain about is the graphics... yes the are not HD.

Nintendo milks one game and you flip?

I think you never were a true nintendo fan. 1) I was pissed when I saw this years 2008 holiday lineup, but I can get over it there are plenty of games on the DS/ PS3 to keep me more than busy.

2) Nintendo has been on fire lately. They really have not dropped one turd YET this gen.

SMG is already considered classic material, Brawl was amazing, Kart was the best Kart, FE was really good, MP3 was better than 2, the only game they somewhat dropped the ball on was SPM.... But that is still a good game.

1) Yes, I was pissed, too.  And you are doing the same... Using your PS3 as a standby to fill the gap.

2) Wii Music says, "Hi".

I'll give you that MK:Wii has some neat new stuff, but the skill vs. luck think is a bit lopsided to the luck side.  That said, again, MK:Wii could have stood to see more "new" as well.  The motion controls aren't exactly "great" and everyone I know that plays the game has gone back to using the 'chuck....

You were never a fan of Nintendo if a series like Animal Crossing would destroy your faith in the company that created Zelda, Mario, Metroid, etc.

Come on, now... Those are great games. Nintendo started down the quick-buck path with MK:Wii. Animal Crossing is a complete ripoff, though. I have a LOT of hourse in Animal Crossing on the 'cube and DS... I expected something a bit more, well, innovative from Nintendo of all companies. Hell, all the town officials are the same exact animals right down to the gate guards. If you aren't offended by a blatant ripoff, well, enjoy your next ones... Regardless, I'm on the sideline for the duration. Something new is going to have to come along that blows doors off -- like SMG -- to get me to buy another Nintendo title.

Keep in mind this is FIRST PARTY. I'd understand if it was a 3rd party ripoff, but from Nintendo themselves? I assumed, given the long delay to deliver the game since the Wii was launched that it was "in development" and would be a very new experience. Reality is that they were just timing it for the best sales opportunity and major development never really happened. This was a cobbled together version of AC that borrowed from the 'Cube and DS versions and doesn't really do anything to make the series fresh again.

And don't even try to lecture me on being a true Nintendo Fan. I have had every Nintendo console and handheld with the exception of the virtual boy. I've played and finished so many games on Nintendo platforms that I lost track a long time ago. I bought a Wii before I ever even considered the 360 and PS3 and was a staunch defender of gameplay over graphics. With this latest iteration of AC, however, both gameplay AND graphics went out of the window. What's left? A 6 year old game that has be relabeled to catch a few million suckers.

or maybe since the Wii is already 2x the size of the GCs userbase... to give them a shot at it.

I have never played AC btw.

The Wii is 100% BC for 'Cube games.  Animal Crossing City Folk is about 90% redundant...

I agree that this gen is good for new gamers and well gamers overall if you have a Wii. But what he says it's true, Nintendo is lagging behind or simply going the easy way as of late. They started off pretty good, but lately they have been rather lazy, I hope that by next year things change. Where's Donkey Kong? Not that crappy vomiting racing game, A PROPER ONE.

Animal Crossing: City Folk has changed quite a few things from the Gamecube version, even if this stuff isn't appearent on the surface, you dig a little deeper, and you'll see quite a few things that just beef it up a little.

Switching between tools with the control pad, Playing hide and seek with neighbors, new jobs, and of course new furniture/clothes/events and whatnot. The Slingshot being useful, more tools (Silver stuff), more K.K. Music (Stale Cupcakes) and museum stuff.

The coolest thing to me though, was the fact that if you ran a route for long enough, you'd start to see the grass wear away little by little. Until there's a clearcut path.

I dunno, maybe I'm just impressed easily, but I thought they added plenty of stuff, even if it didn't seem much different on the outside. (Do you really play Animal Crossing for the graphics? The Wii one seemed slightly smoother anyway.)

That's just my opinion, it's too bad if you don't like it, but I was impressed.

The Mother 3 Fan Translation is done! Everyone go get it right now! (Mother3.fobby.net)

Play Earthbound for the SNES ; ; Do it, it's awesome!

Do not let the haters get you down. I personally agree with your assessment. I think Nintendo has become complacent, and gasp inexcusably lazy. What you are taking note of is the repackaging mentality. I cannot honestly understand how someone can jaw jack at Electronic Arts when Nintendo is the prime offender this generation.

Basically if you have a Gamecube the Wii is actually redundant. All the games are just repackaged anyway. Why waste the cash. You might gather I stopped purchasing games for my Wii like eighteen months ago. It really is just disappointing.

Wow, I'm too lazy to elaborate on why but WOW there is so much fail in this post.

Pixel Art can be fun.

yes, there is not enough core material on the Wii to satisfy someone with hardcore taste.

Actually Wiimusic is very good from what I hear. It is just the negative hype from IGN and such getting you down on it. Also, MK is the best MK game for a skilled played since SMK. It has less luck involved than DD and MK64(the worst imo). Dont forget the bike, they change up the gameplay quite a bit without being unbalanced. The Wheel is terrible for any heritage MK player... It is for the new people to the series, I see alot of people that are new to gaming liking the Wii wheel the best. Also the game works quite well using the wiimote and nunchuck, my bro who has played all MK too, actually likes that over the GC and Classic controller.

I say, give em more time. For me, if they jack up Zelda... I am out. They Nailed Brawl, FE, and SMG, so I have alot of hope (plus they have been developing the game for like 2 years already, and we are a minumum of 1 year away....)

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

To display how disgruntled I am with this post.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Apparently he's trying to say that graphics = gameplay
Also, Mario Kart Wii was a LOT different, different controls, sweet graphics, Mii support, ONLINE (1st in series), new items, battle mode online *drool*, new battle mode type, new courses, online leaderboards, tourneys where you do random challenges, etc.

Well,i understand and accept your opinion kn.But not everyone thinking like that it seems.

Look in the other side for those who never play AC before ,doesn't it good that Ninty try to share how greatness it is to others?

If you don't like it then just skipped it and playing something else instead.

Oh ,and thanks for share your opinion to us. :)
