Forums - Nintendo - Wow, I am beyond disappointed with Nintendo.

Certainly they could have done more with animal crossing in a graphical sense, but if the satisfaction you derive from Animal Crossing comes from something so superficial, you've been playing the wrong series anyway

They added more things to do and further online integration, that's all they really needed

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I guess I'll just have to double my gaming purchases to make up for the loss of sales.

Have fun on the other side!

mario kart wii is THE best mario kart game. it is the best balance as far a the skill vrs. luck thing, GREAT tracks, online, Wheel, and so much more. It is better than the original. The only thing I can think of you could even complain about is the graphics... yes the are not HD.

Nintendo milks one game and you flip?

I think you never were a true nintendo fan. I was pissed when I saw this years 2008 holiday lineup, but I can get over it there are plenty of games on the DS/ PS3 to keep me more than busy.

Nintendo has been on fire lately. They really have not dropped one turd YET this gen.

SMG is already considered classic material, Brawl was amazing, Kart was the best Kart, FE was really good, MP3 was better than 2, the only game they somewhat dropped the ball on was SPM.... But that is still a good game.

You were never a fan of Nintendo if a series like Animal Crossing would destroy your faith in the company that created Zelda, Mario, Metroid, etc.

Come on, now... Those are great games.  Nintendo started down the quick-buck path with MK:Wii.  Animal Crossing is a complete ripoff, though.  I have a LOT of hourse in Animal Crossing on the 'cube and DS... I expected something a bit more, well, innovative from Nintendo of all companies.  Hell, all the town officials are the same exact animals right down to the gate guards.  If you aren't offended by a blatant ripoff, well, enjoy your next ones...  Regardless, I'm on the sideline for the duration.  Something new is going to have to come along that blows doors off -- like SMG -- to get me to buy another Nintendo title.

Keep in mind this is FIRST PARTY.  I'd understand if it was a 3rd party ripoff, but from Nintendo themselves?  I assumed, given the long delay to deliver the game since the Wii was launched that it was "in development" and would be a very new experience.  Reality is that they were just timing it for the best sales opportunity and major development never really happened.  This was a cobbled together version of AC that borrowed from the 'Cube and DS versions and doesn't really do anything to make the series fresh again.

And don't even try to lecture me on being a true Nintendo Fan.  I have had every Nintendo console and handheld with the exception of the virtual boy.  I've played and finished so many games on Nintendo platforms that I lost track a long time ago.  I bought a Wii before I ever even considered the 360 and PS3 and was a staunch defender of gameplay over graphics.  With this latest iteration of AC, however, both gameplay AND graphics went out of the window.  What's left?  A 6 year old game that has be relabeled to catch a few million suckers.

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

good bye then

You got mad at Mario Kart Wii because it uses the same formula as the previous games? Why mess up something great. It's like Gears 1 towards 2. It's great (besides the Multiplayer from 1 to 2) it uses the same gameplay.

or maybe since the Wii is already 2x the size of the GCs userbase... to give them a shot at it.

I have never played AC btw.

Shame for nintendo?

Why should they do what your saying? THe games are selling millions with there current strategy, why should they stop?

If even leo-j knows this, the OP is just being dumb.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

@kn

Do not let the haters get you down. I personally agree with your assessment. I think Nintendo has become complacent, and gasp inexcusably lazy. What you are taking note of is the repackaging mentality. I cannot honestly understand how someone can jaw jack at Electronic Arts when Nintendo is the prime offender this generation.

Basically if you have a Gamecube the Wii is actually redundant. All the games are just repackaged anyway. Why waste the cash. You might gather I stopped purchasing games for my Wii like eighteen months ago. It really is just disappointing.
