Okay, well I just finished the game, and I wanted to write some comments for everyone that wants to know if de Blob is worth the buy.
I'll start off with the cons, just to get them out of the way.
Cons-
- The game was quite repetitive. You started out with the first level doing one thing, and by the end of the game, you were doing the same exact thing. There were no new moves, no upgrades, no new types of missions, it stuck to the basic formula through out the game.
- Very short, IMO, I probaly beat it in 8-10 hours, and I did sit there and so some extra things for fun.
- The controls were good, except for jumping. I found myself swinging the wii-mote constantly because de Blob wouldn't jump correctly.
- I felt like there wasn't enough enemies in the stages.
Pros-
- Although the gameplay was simple and stayed the exact same thing the entire game, it was admitingly fun. I very much enjoyed going around painting everything I saw, and I loved doing some of the missions (particularly the ones that you restored buildings to color.)
- The cutscenes had very good graphics, which was refreshing, and they were entertaining to watch. I even laughed at a few of them (because of the jokes.)
- Each level was a good length of time- about 30 to 45 minutes per level, so that you had enough time to have fun in each stage, but not long enough so they got boring. I just would of enjoyed more levels.
- I wish they had a deeper story, but hey, what can you expect from a game like this. I really enjoyed de Blob's character, and I would of liked to see more of it fleshed out, but it was pretty simple.
Overall, if you have a Wii and you want to play a good platformer, buy the game. I'm 18 years old, just a little fyi, and I still enjoyed it. If there is a sequal made, I am likely to buy it.
8/10 total.
