Not to derail the thread or anything  8).  But I hate when they completely change the story in movies too.  Whether it be for video games, or comics, or books.  Once in a while they actually pull it off, but not often.

Though, I don't mind at all if the movie doesn't change the story, but relays a different part of the story.  I don't know what the plans on the Halo movie were, but I would have been fine with it being based on some female character.  As long as it stuck with the same story and events, and at least mentioned Master Chief and what he's currently doing in it.  I think it'd be just fine to have the movie on different battles or characters that we have not seen in the game.

@kyliedog - Come on man, it's Resident Evil, not everything has to make sense scientifically.

I usually don't have a problem with a slight change here and there as long as the tone of the movie is the same as the game. Mortal Kombat movie...good as its a retelling of the game and it feels like the game. Resident evil movie...bad as it feels nothing like the game.

With that said, Id have a problem with Halo being based on a female character and changed slightly. Halos story is good enough with enough meaning and reliegius undertones that it could be retold exactly as it is on the big screen with a great movie.

It was better than the live action movies, but still a horrible move.

I think we are in the minority, but I loved the movies myself.

I'm buying it based on the Resident Evil title alone. I liked the past Resident Evil's that were released on DVD and I'm buying this one!!!

One of my friends on GT just told me hi is a waste of time....Well I don't have seen it yet so I can't tell.

I watched the short preview (not trailer) on PS HOME and it was really good.

I'm going to get it on Blu-ray.
