This is pretty much the same way that Pikmin being re-release on Wii.

Introducing the game to new players and get more fanbase for their new release.

Wow.

Claude/Fernando are fanning non-existant flames.

No one is damage controlling anything. MH3 was announced over 12 months ago for the Wii... It's a little too late.

What I'm simply doing is trying to understand how porting a game to the Wii means that the franchise is jumping to that platform. MH continued concurrently on PS2 and PSP for two games, and the reason PS2 development of the game stopped is cause it didn't sell well enough to stay on the platform. If you look at total MH sales, PSP accounts for 80 percent or so of total MH sales, which is astounding, and single-handedly saved the series from obscurity.

@ gnizmo

But how much would they really make over the localization? MHF2 only sold ~500k in the West, while enjoying triple that in Japan. It can't be a lot of money made on making it over here.

Also, I do find it quite hilarious the number of people that have hopped on this game's jock since it was announced for the Wii.

I distinctly remember the lack of interest in Monster Hunter Freedom, 2, and to a lesser extent 2G (this was released after the Wii announcement), even though the games sold well. There wasn't tons of info on new monsters and environments being posted, and when they were, not a lot of people cared, but as soon as it's on the Wii, huge threads are being made for the game, and everyone is excited.

So my question is:

Have people even played the game? Any of them? MH1, 2, g, MHF1, 2, or 2G?

Cause if not, I fail to see how you can be excited for a sequel in a game of a series you haven't played.

Well.. it's always good when Sony loses the exclusivity of their third party games =p

So you've openly admitted you created the thread because you're happy that Monster Hunter G isn't PS2 exclusive anymore, not because you are excited for Monster Hunter 3 or the MH Series in general.

Well, that's real mature.

Thanks =p

I played MHF1. I plan on getting MHF2 when it releases in the U.S. I also plan on getting MH3 if it releases in the U.S or not. I played MHF1 after the announcement of MH3 though so I don't know if that counts.

I don't play the game, but I want the Wii to get more than the table scraps developers gave the Wii in the first year or so.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

MHF2 is already in the U.S.

Do you mean MHP2G? That's coming over as MH: Unite this spring, but Monster Hunter Freedome 2 is already out.

Did you enjoy MHF1 though?
