@ DMeisterJ: What if it sells 5 million units on Wii alone? ;)

The PSP has a bigger userbase than Wii in Japan, and the game was very successful because of the ability to play with anyone, and since the game was big, everywhere.

I don't believe MH3 will do 5 mil in JP, or any MH game.  MH is big, but not that big.

I do think that if they wanted to abandon PSP for Wii development of MH, then we wouldn't be getting the localization of MHP2G this spring.  They'd just not localize it like they didn't localize MHG for the PS2, when they switched over to the PSP.  >_>

People are just reading too much into stuff, like usual.

Thanks for the advice, but I don't know how to all anyone. It sounds...unpleasant.

You saying it makes it so?

But come on now, does anyone actually think Capcom will ignore the console which increased the MH popularity ten fold?

Cool!

then thats 7.5 million total. even though your  numbers is not reasonable. HOw the hell is MH3 gunna sell 5 million on a 7.25 - 8.25 million install base in japan.

people tend to forget that portables are the top sellers in japan not the consoles no matter who is winning the cansole war over there portables will sell more IMO

lol wat.

This isn't a test...it's just trying to build up a solid base.

You honestly believe that? It's some quick yen for Capcom and simply a way for Capcom to see how the franchise does on a home console. Remember the console which made it huge was a handheld, Capcom want to see if it will do well on a home console after the handhelds have made the franchise so popular.

Monster Hunter 3G on the PSP is a given, I simply believe this is a way for Capcom to see if the port comes sooner or later.

They are trying to build an userbase in the west for MH, as they already stated. This game didn't come to the west on console (I am pretty sure the PS2 version was Japan only) and trying to build an userbase with the PSP in the west is... well, difficult... yeah, let's go with that.

If they want to make MH popular in the west they need to do it on a console(MH isn't really suited for DS, PSP software sale suck) and the Wii is simply the best candidate.

So... is this port coming to the US?

Also... is this port going to be out before MH3?

If so when?

That is a bad method of testing. If people already bought the game on the PS2, PSP, or both why would they buy it on the Wii. I'm pretty sure the second even later port of a game won't sell as well as the first port of it. So how is this suppose to represent the sales of a NEW GAME releasing for the FIRST TIME?
