Forums - Nintendo - Monster Hunter G ported to Wii... Famitsu Scan...

@Kasz216

First and foremost you do make sense but what DMeisterJ is saying why would you buy the Wii version and be hyped on it (since you never played it) and you have a clear advantage right now to play it on the PS2. It will be the exact same thing but different control wise on the Wii.

I mean if your hyped on the game and love it right now, then clearly you should just buy the PS2 version, but if you want to wait for the Wii version then wait for the Wii version. I just don't see any point of you two arguing really.

Not to mention MH3 will be the best in the series anyway. I mean...since they're bascally the same I'd like to start out fresh instead of playing the older ones then playing MH3 then going "I've played this before..." and not enjoying it to my fullest since it seems kinda redone already.

Strong words coming from someone who hasn't played the first six itenerations.

Well Monster Hunter Freedom 1 & 2 and whatever else was released on the PSP recently are all ports of the PS2 versions, just that they are portable now.

MH3 will probably be new and better than the pervious but looking at the gameplay videos the same exact formula is intact, but they just added new features and scenery to the mix.

He got that information directly from a self proported expert of the series.

(You actually.... You basically said all that in this thread other then MH3 will be better.  Though as you stated it's basically going to be the same game but extra stuff.)

I already stated why.

I've already got a giant backlog of games.

Like seriously... it's huge.

It'd take me a while to get through it all even if i didn't have anything to do.

While for most people... it just makes sense to not get the PS2 version because the main course isn't aviable on the PS2.

I'd think people who are excited about MH3 are excited about the main attraction--ie. online--over the single player.

Yes and you are correct, but is Nintendo's Wii service ideal for the Monster Hunter online portion? Do you think Capcom will incorpate a online portion in the American Wii version of MH3?

I hope so, cause they should of done the same with the PSP versions.

Clearly as you stated more people care about MH multiplayer-wise than they do single-player wise. That's the main attraction I have on this series. I did before and I do now. I lost interest because I would face nearly impossible bosses on my own. But knowing you have a few friends around you and your strategizing new ways to take down this monster. Is that sets Monster Hunter a unique gaming experience.

You think they won't? Even MH1 had online intact when they brought it over, it would be a notable step back for one is one of the game's most advertised features.

I think the big worry is that the online may allow "friends only".

I really wouldn't call any of them the best.

Essentially, they're all the same.

If that's the case, then MH4 will be the best, then 5, and 6.  >_>

So your stating that your PS2 library is stacked up and you would just want the Wii version? And the main course is on the PS2 version. Many people today still play Monster Hunter on the PS2. Check the gamefaqs.com forum and look under Monster Hunter for the PS2.

Clearly the game is still going strong. The Wii version is going to be the exact same way.

Well yeah.  The next is the best when everything is the same but extra content.

Unless the extra content both

A) Sucks

B) Is forced on you.
