But Home could make up for the loss per PS3 it is making.

Did you seriously resurrect a week old thread just to tell someone not to swear?
This thread should be resurected as the situation of home changes over time with updates.

You expect each PS3 owner to spend $90 on Home? Yikes.... My question still stands, Sony! Release your data on the costs that go into Home and the revenue. We'll do the profit math for you

No...my points are just as hollow as yours, i.e. no one outside of insider really knows, you just choose to believe whatever you choose to believe and you try to pass it up as fact. Sony would definitely NOT be happy with revenue of $7 million a year, that means they might just be breaking even or making a small profit at best. I said from the beginning that my numbers were hypothetical based on anectodal evidence. You saw another anectodal evidence and believed that was fact because it suits what you believe better. $7 million a year is low because that would mean the video store is doing < $7 million a year.....considering that leak about Sony making more than $100 million revenue on PSN, well let's just say I find that unlikely. Of course your anti-sony bias keeps blinding you. |

Im not too sure about updates anymore I dont use home anymore, but I hope other suckers do giving Sony money to make better stuff.

People say "why the hell buy stuff in home, it isn't real stuff!" But games aren't real and people pay money for those pieces of virtual entertainment, DLC costs money and those guns or new maps aren't real but are little mini-editions to the game you play. So if someone feels that the stuff in home they want to buy will increase the entertainment value of home, why not?
Why not pay the price of a packet of crisps to buy a cool hoodie for your avatar that he'll have forever. Why not pay the price of a pint of beer down in the pub for a new massive gaf in Home with a chandelier and a big fireplace and staircase that you can invite all your psn m8s over to?
ps: I havn't made any micro-transactions on Home ... yet

I just saw this list of PSN stats
http://kotaku.com/5139807/open-up-for-a-strong-dose-of-psn-stats
There is a list of the top three downloaded items within Home, and in 3rd place we find the Summer House! This costs the same as a PSOne game! How can this thing be so popular!?
Sony really must be making a lot of dough on Home :-S
