Forums - Nintendo - "...the Wii is not a next-gen gaming platform. It's a gadget."

This is a troll thread and nothing more, just look at where he got his link.

I'm going to start counting the minutes you have left before you get banned, or if you're lucky, just this thread locked.

Troll thread?  From a life-long Nintendo fan?  From someone who owns a Wii and has beaten all of the "mandatory" titles?  Reading comprehension is your friend.

Keep this in mind when reading what I type...

I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.

So me playing it everyday and owning over 40 games means I'm just a gadget whore then right. Oh well.

Hear that guys... I'm not a gamer anymore.  Oh well.

Would seem I ceased being a gamer then too..

The author of the article is still in denial but moving into the bargaining and acceptance phase. He's right on schedule.

Really? I thought he was at least a month late to the party...

Explanation of sig:

I am a Pakistani.....my name is Dan....how hard is that? (Don't ask about the 101...apparantely there are more of me out there....)

There's no way I could have the Wii as my only console. I'd sell mine for a 360 if I thought my son wouldn't get pissed off. Aside from having some fun with Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy, the Wii has totally disenchanted this life-long Nintendo fan and I'm sure I'm not alone.

I think that there is a one sided look at consoles gathering dust that is (primarily) used to justify people's personal opinions about the Wii ... Personally, I own a Wii and an XBox 360 and my XBox 360 is the system that is "Gathering dust"

I will avoid reading this after looking at the source link. I need not comment since everyone else will be more than happy to bash this article.

The source it comes from doesn't automatically make it rubbish.  I completely agree with it and I've owned every single Nintendo console.  The author says that Nintendo's approach has been brilliant from a financial standpoint and declares it an unquestionable success.  It's the identity of the Wii that he questions.

I don't need to read the material to know that the Wii is a 7th gen gaming console (aka next-gen).  Last time I checked I play games on my Wii all the time, but the other so called next-gen devices only have my interest because of the cheap media center abilities that they present.  So without sounding ignorant, what current gen gaming console is a not a gadget.

Yea oh well.  Guess this is what kills hardcore gaming when you start excluding them haha.
