@CGI-Quality
You laid out the differences pretty well actually, so I dont need to second them. For me, physics and animation are part of overall graphics quality and PS3 is potentially better than xbox 360 in that respect as it has 6 dedicated spus (out of 8, pretty flexible to use). But they are not easy to utilise unless you have deep pockets and lots of time. Only a few games (most probably only first and second party titles) will be able to utilise them as it's not financially feasable to go into such detail in development for third party developers. 7.1 sound system is even beyond geeks, but good for only the music enthusiast professionals or a very niche group per se.
The cell is a big disappointment for Sony indeed. 1 full year after MS, anything would be faster than 360's cpu anyway. And they chose the dumbest choice possible. Only Marginally or potentially faster (and potentially slower for many games), much more costly and a programming nightmare in many cases. They should've gone with a quad pc processor or something like that. Any CPU on desktop from 2006 on is faster than the cell. The graphics processor is another disaster! They came up with a worse GPU after one full year. It's really hard to come up with something not faster than 360 for a higher price after 1 year, they succeeded that. Congrats!
