that would be a very foolish thing for capcom to do and something that just won't sell. When are developers going to learn? Wii owners do not want downgraded (gimped) ports from the HD consoles, especially ones that come out like a year after the original game and when almost everyone who wants the game has bought it (and why would they wait a year for the gimped version). Wii owners want games built up from scratch which take full advantage of the console's strengths. Capcom should release a completely different game for wii not a gimped game. It should have effort put into it like RE4. Such a game would do very well on wii as evidenced by the sales of RE4. Wii owners that have been dying for a new resident evil will eat it up including those that have HD consoles. And new fans from RE5 may even by a wii to play the latest version of the game

Well if Wii would ever get a proper RE game (something build from the scratch preferably, an exclusive title). Something like when Capcom have released Code Veronica on DC it could outsell the HD versions of RE 5.

Why?

Resident Evil 4 and Umbrella Chronicles are extremely popular on the Wii, with one being a port of GC game and other one being an on rail shooter (not that much of a popular genre) and RE have been on Nintendo consoles in past generations.

RE Wii could sell 3 mln copies considering that if it potentialy releases wii userbase woould be massive.

The first two are improving on the Wii, and voice chat is upcoming for the Wii. Heard of Wii Speak?

I'd buy it, though I think I would be disapointed with how similar it is to RE4.... RE4 is great, but I don't need more than 1 game like it.

I just have a bad feeling that RE:5 isnt going to review well, and by that I mean mid-low 80s. None of the preview reviewers seemed to have had the level of excitement that a really great game would have.

At least a million, I guess. There are plenty of people out that play RE games for the sole purpose of learning about what goes on in the storyline. I'm one of those people and would quickly buy the Wii version if it were released.

P.S. And I hope Wesker gets killed or reconciles with Chris since I'm starting to get fed up with him as the "main villain" of the series.

How do you feel about Dead Rising on Xbox360 and now Dead Rising on Wii? something like that.
