Forums - Nintendo - So FF:CB bigger than Dragon Quest X? Fan's reactions on the news...

Dragon Quest is large in Japan while Final Fantasy is large in America, Europe and Japan. So naturally being majority America and Europe for those forums there will be more hype than of DQX. I'm sure in Japan more people were raving over DQX on Wii than FF:CB on Wii.

I'm personally way more interested in Dragon Quest, but I have a friend that's a fellow old-school DQ fan that thought VIII sucked, so I'm a little nervous.

I can't get that excited for Crystal Bearers because I wasn't impressed with the original. I know this is supposed to be more focused on one-player, but...well...show me!

Nobody even plays Dragon Quest outside Japan.

It's more about the fact that Crystal Bearers is something that we've known about for a long time. Dragon Quest was dropped on us out of nowhere, but the enthusiasm for Crystal Bearers is akin to the enthusiasm that surrounded Disaster: Day of Crisis, or that would surround Project HAMMER should it be announced

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Just to clarify, Im talking here on how big the fans react on the news and not how big the game was. Besides, like other members here said, Final fantasy was bigger in the west than Dragon Quest X. Just like Monster hunter 3, Dragon quest X was only for fans of the system saying " We have major franchise exclusives" in the end of the day its only big on Japan like MH 3.

Heres the order of titles that Wii gamers excited about:

1) Kingdom hearts 3
2) Final fantasy XIII
3) Any Final fantasy exclusive made by Squeenix
4) Dragon Quest X

------> yeah, KH3 was on top even DQX in Japan was almost the lifetime sales of the original Kingdom hearts

Dragon Quest X wasn't for boasting, it was for Dragon Quest.

Is it Claude? If not for Ninty october press conference I dont even knew MH3. But hey, its franchise exclusive so its good news either way even I dont knew if I'll buy this game or not if released because I dont know this game. How many Monster Hunter games released in NA so far? I've played over a hundred PS2 games in 4 or 5 years and I have to buy Monster Hunter yet.

I've played Dragon Warrior VII and DQ VIII and in your honest opinion, are those kind of battle system and gameplay in JRPGs do you think the general gaming public would bite it? In the honest truth fanboyism aside, Im not talking about DQX Im talking about DW VII and DQ VIII in your honest and realistic and truth opinion  those kind of games will the general gaming public will buy it?

Im not trolling here, if thats what you say in your honest opinion will the general gaming public buy those kind of games? I've played those games if you want I'll review it for you so honestly, will the general gaming public buy those games? Im not talking the fans of the game Im talking about gaming public in general...

But aren't you interested in MH3? If anything it's both for boasting and also for the game. Same with DQ X for a lot of people too. Anybody does that when big games are announced for a system.

You've got me there, even I dont know the game Im curious to play that. But still, Im more interested in FF: CB than MH3 and DQX but doesnt mean I will not try to play MH3 and DQX when its released.

only dragon quest i've played is dragon warrior 3 for the game boy color. But man was that an amazing game. I will buy dragon quest 10 for sure.

FFCC:CB is not a main series game while DQ X is. That alone makes DQ much bigger.

There is a chance that CB will be bigger than DQ IX though, since the latter is released on a handheld!

Let me get this straight, Dragon Quest is one of the biggest RPG franchises ever and Nintendo has pledged to push it in the west and you'r worried about some imaginary "gaming public?"

It's a little strange that the Wii gets one exclusive and you try to damage control it with other Wii games and concepts like "gaming public," but you can defend something like Quantam of Solace with your life. I wonder why that is?

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

OK, it doesnt matter if Dragonquest is the biggest RPG franchise if it didnt penetrate the western market. With FPS, action and shooter games made by western publishers and MMORPG such as WoW. I mean, "imaginary gaming public"? Do you really think your brother or your sister will play any dragonquest game even DWVII or DQVIII ?

OK, I know you've played a Dragonquest game Im posting the original question do you really think with the gameplay and the story do you think everyone will play it even for three hours? OK now that i think about it, I give up after you've given the example QoS I give up. Its not even in the topic yet why you bringing this? I give up I dont want to discuss anymore...
