About the shroud.

General Physical Evidence

The figure of Jesus has other unusual properties. For one thing, the image is not distorted, as it would be if it were the impression of a three-dimensional body wrapped in cloth; one has only to smear a napkin with mustard and press it against one’s face to see that the resulting two-dimensional image looks nothing like the figure on the shroud. Christ’s hair hangs downward, like that of a standing person, and the suspiciously bright red “blood” on the shroud appears to be painted on top of the hair rather than saturated within it. In addition, the cloth itself is a 3:1 herringbone twill, of which no examples have been found from the first century, when the shroud was supposed to have originated.
Scientific Tests

Pieces of the shroud were carbon-dated in 1987 by three separate laboratories. All three — at Oxford, Zurich, and the University of Arizona — produced a date of origin circa 1260–1390, which is consistent with the time the shroud turned up in the historical record. Tests of the “blood” were carried out by microanalyst Walter McCrone over a period of years, and the findings were consistent with the image being created with tempera paint. There has been enormous controversy over the scientific testing, with some authenticity advocates like the late Ray Rogers (writing in the May/June 2005 issue of Skeptical Inquirer) insisting that the carbon dating samples were contaminated. However, in light of the mountain of evidence pointing to forgery, and considering the fact that at least one modern artist has produced a comparable fake, it seems clear that the shroud, while a splendid artistic object, is nonetheless not the burial shroud of a savior that its believers wish it to be.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Does anyone actually believe that Mary remained a virgin after she gave birth to Jesus?

I mean come on, it says several times in the New Testament that Jesus has a brother, James, and not just in a metaphorical way. There is also evidence that James was a very important member in the early Christian (or technically Jesusbewegung) movement.

Not to mention Mary was a woman, in a time when woman had almost no power. Does anyone believe that she could successfully tell her husband the entire time they were married that they couldn't have sex? Some women were killed for that in those days.

After no.

Heck, i kinda doubt the virigin birth in general.  It's not like the virgin birth is important for anything anwyay.

Of course I also think Jesus had at least one kid.

The disciple Thomas.  It seems to fit.

Though i mean... i'm sure she had plenty of power in that marriage.  What with being chosen by god and angels apparently telling them such.

Easy ... "The Bible may not exclude the possibility of alien life" ... The bible talks about the creation of life on earth, nowhere else.

We have scientific proofs that most of the things that are said in the bible are wrong. Saying the world's been created by god is a lie, saying man kind's been created by god is a lie, all the stuff about Marie being a virgin ... Guess what? Lie (scientific proof: jesus blood is AB type).

What..... none of that is scientifically proven...

At all dude.

I mean there is like... few even historical mentions of jesus outside religious texts.  Let alone blood samples.

Unless you take the shroud of turin, but nobody's really sure on that one since the carbon dating showed middle ages period, though it was carbon dating from the outside which may have been just the repairs of the shroud of turin.

Also.  Virgin Births have happened actually.

Just not one record withing humans. (unless you count jesus.)

Birds do it, Bees do it.  I've got no clue about educated flees either... but why not people too?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parthenogenesis

Eh actually if that did happen I think Jesus would of been a girl.

Wouldn't THAT have been a twist.

Right, so, homos have been banned from life. I see

Yeah, I read the same thing.. Actually, I watched a show on the History Channel if I remember right that showed that the shroud was relatively new (600-700 years old).

Holy shit, I f*** the pope! Really, I don't understand how it's possible to allow catholicism in our developped countries! The guy talks like hitler and all we got is "okay, whatever, he can say whatever he wants cause he's the Pope ..."

And BTW super pope, the priest of my village is gay!!!

I understand you're angry, but this comment is a bit over the top. Tone it down.

Nah tremble is right.  And I totally would not call it over the top.  How many gay's are getting killed every year in Africa just for their sexuality?  Some entire families get murdered simple because one of the sons is gay and the population is scared that the devil is inside all of them. Even one of the top five reasons why Africans from Congo immigrate to Belgium is because they are scared that they will get killed for their sexuality (don't know about EU countries/USA). And this will only encourage those africans to kill innocents for their sexuality.  The pope belongs in the group of Stalin/HItler/Mao Zedong etc he is a fucking mass murderer.

I'm not the biggest fan of the pope by any means, but that's just ridiculous to say that he is like Hitler.  Give me a break, really.  That's the problem with kids these days, they don't know their history, so they try to put modern day weiners in the same category as historical madmen.

The Bible does mention Jesus' siblings, but there are a few plausible explanations that will allow for the doctrine of perpetual virginity of the Theotokos. The Bible does not mention whether or not Jesus' siblings are from a previous marriage of Joseph's. The siblings could be Jesus' step-siblings. It could also denote close relatives. I do not think a metephorical meaning is a correct explanation. In Mark 6, when Jesus returns to and is subsequently rejected at Nazareth, the townspeople specifically mention Jesus' brothers and sisters.

He is completely right overly gay people will destroy the world, if all people of the world did not thing but go after the joy of pure gayness then the world would end…I mean to many people are selfish and the only way to be happy is to do bad things like punch babies and such….so yeah if every one was gay the world would fall apart

There must always be sad people to balance the gay factor

Plus what would emo kids due if they could pretend to be sad anymore b/c we knew they were really gay and carefree

*and before those people that cant take a joke start flaming, realize that gay has many meanings and its not just a homosexual term*

i hope this makes your day a little more gay

more animals

No, my mother in law is no cat... she's much more than that:

Get it right.
